Hello,
I need advice… I have this pinarello: https://steel-vintage.com/de/products/pinarello-asolo-classic-steel-road-bike-1990s-detail
with shimano 105.
it is little bit rusty. I dont know if I should make new paint, in original colors and stickers, or in different asolo color (because I like it more). Did asolo make same bike with different colors or it is the different bike? I dont wanna mess up restoration. Sorry for my english.
Thanks
Jakub

There were many paint schemes of Asolo. I had a blue one for example. It’s up to you how you are going to paint it.
Yep transfers should be available. Just take plenty of photos of it before you strip the paint.
The amazing things is now we have such great two part 2k clear available in rattle cans and great primers. No need for paint guns.
I wouldn’t worry about color really just pick what you like and refinish it.
Strip the old paint off with a paint stripper when it bubbles up scrub all the tough to reach parts with a wire brush to get it all loose. Then sand and seal with an epoxy primer.
The sanding can be done with Scotch bright pads. The maroon pad is what you want for bare metal. It is the equivalent to 400 grit paper. Sand the entire frame until it is all a uniform finish before epoxy primer. Good epoxy primer is a two part paint. You have to release the activator and shake like mad.
Google bike refinishing and you will find plenty of great jobs done with high end paint from a rattle can..
You can order just about any car color you like in a can then clear it with a two part clear. All is available online.
Have fun.
If the rust is purely surface try cleaning with a ball of aluminum foil and WD40;
