Route des Grandes Alpes HIGHEST paved pass – FRENCH ALPS solo motorcycle trip Col de L’Iseran EP.11

A day of lakes, riding the highest paved pass in the French Alps and Europe and being reunited with my partner for a week of adventure together.

This is where the good part begins I think the isano just feels Majestic Overall good morning I have slept incredibly well um it’s really nice quiet place and um the owner owners are motorcyclists too and the day before me there was uh also apparently a Dutch motorcyclist and uh yeah very friendly very oh hi I don’t know if you are from the owners

Ending this day is is also on the planning and in the end I’m aiming to end at mon so uh somewhere there somewhere where we can find accommodation and uh maybe go camping Etc so without further Ado let’s get this day Started yesterday at the lake I slipped and I like gone into the water and I have this biger cut under my foot um and now I’m starting to feel it that’s where I’ll be going sometimes you have to uh cross the most random villages to get to some

Great roads which is the case right now D 21 eight in my experience those D Ros are either very nice or very shitet the Ares that is the name indeed ow ow ow ow ow ow so shifting is quite okay but putting pressure because it’s a it’s like a slit and it was

Already closing a little bit because I put some cream on it but it goes open again and that really hurts guess we gotta keep moving and don’t fall oh nice luckily the fuse made up for the discomfort and it just kept getting better and better on my way up to the summit oh

Then that is not the lake where I said yesterday this is another one so yeah oh wow hello there wow sorry guys W it’s a lot so many holy cow holy goat oh here it’s paved again I was under the uh impression that all of this would be off-road

Tank when all of a sudden I heard His Bike Stop on the other side of the pump a young guy carefully asks me in Dutch are you uh elanar to which I nodded turns out he follows me on Instagram and he recognized my bike we put the bikes

On the parking lot and we started talking it was his first time in the Alps and he was mesmerized his idea was to do a trans Alp route on his trans Alp it was was a refreshing talk and I suggested that if he had some time to

Also go into the Swiss Alps to write some of my all-time favorites Panorama stasa o and the old hotard bus the trola road when I was already back home I saw on his Instagram that he did in fact visit Switzerland and he sent me his route over 4,000 km in just 12

Days this is so cool so random but so cool and uh yeah nice meet meeting people like that I’m going to ride the Rosa again and then uh I will make my way to the iseran go oh that was my rout I will do that in a bit nice bik speak

Woohoo I had to stop woo what about that can you believe this color I think you know why I had to stop here this is where the good part begins oh man so blue one tunnel later I decided to get my camera out because I knew the right up

And the fuse were going to be Good There it’s getting quite windy up here I made it look look at That easy on I think I will just park it over there [Applause] This part right here is one of my favorite bits of the isang and it’s a really great corner just everything is bright here the picture is perfect you know yeah that’s what I mean I think the is unle just feels Majestic overall everywhere you look it’s powerful it’s big it’s yeah it’s just Impressive Oh I uh just got off the phone with my partner he is about the same distance um as I am from monsen we are going to meet down there have some lunch late lunch and then find a place to sleep it’s nice seeing it in daylight

This time the last time I was here it was uh end of the afternoon soft lighting and sun setting but it’s very nice to see it like this now we found the place to stay had some food dropped our bags and then we headed out to the Lake Oh Oh [Laughter] Yeah putting my solo Adventure on a hold for a long week to enjoy some time together in the next episode you’ll see some of our Shenanigans Oh
