  1. Ehat are your intentions with the bike bike?
What do you ride? If you plan on doing gnarly terrain I reccomend a hardcore hardtail if you want a hardtail. If a bad back or want to be faster and not fatigue as much go full suspension.
If you want to do City riding only a suspension fork is overkill, might want to build a bike with rigid fork.

I would change. Here is my reasoning:
Geometry is bad, super slack seat tube angle, quite steep head angle.
    Fork is junk
    Drivetrain is junk
Frame might be decent, but tru axle
It will cost you to update and if bike is not boost, then you won’t benefit from boost standard, when swapping updrafef wheels over to new build.
If upgrading you would likely end up upgrading everything apart from saddle and cockpit. At that point it’s better to build your own bike or buy one second hand that’s much better spec and good upgrade potential and swap what you don’t like.

But you can keep this bike to get around in the city centre.

But if you plan on a new build, you can get parts now you can install on this bike, if new bike will have BSA bb like this one does you can get cranks and bottom bracket
Drivetrain is always a safe upgrade.
Big cassette, a cheap 11 speed Shimano rear derailleur, Deore or Cues.
I reccomend oval chain ring. It’s easier on the knees. For me a must.
    Saddle of your choice. Brakes.
But if you plan on big rotors this bike won’t fit that in the rear. But brake set is a safe bet.
Pedals of course you can use pedals on any bike. Unless small feet I reccomend Pedaling Innovations Catalyst pedals. For supported arch.
