Everyone says they’ve tried everything, but I went deep in the trench today:

Cleaned and regreased BB and cranks
Seat rails and post
Cassette/chain
Thru axle
Pedals
Chainring
Headset just incase
Replaced the BB as well…

Creak still persists..

Haven’t been thoroughly over the bike for cracks but my quick check didn’t yield any. I did check inside the frame with a light as well around the BB.

Thoughts?

  1. I should add, the creak is standing or sitting, and only under load. I can’t reproduce it in the stand nor standing on one of the pedals.

My next step is to check the crank arm and spindle and see if there is a crack there and examine the frame more.

This is a fairly new bike – ~500 miles on it

  2. Check the seat post. With carbon sometimes it’s hard to pinpoint. I’ve chased many a creak that wasn’t the BB and it turned out the seatpost needed to be cleaned, lubed, fiber grip, etc.

Just because it would be a very simple thing to try.. do you have another set of pedals to swap? Just to completely eliminate them from the equation?
