Working on an old clunker (Free Spirit Brittany) from my uncle’s estate. The freewheel (Falcon) was locking up and/or spinning either direction so I sprayed it with brake parts cleaner while it was on the stand. It’s working better now, but it will probably need the right tool to disassemble (FR-7?) and grease. But I noticed this wobble… Any ideas what might cause this?
It’s obviously old, relatively cheap and probably never been serviced. Is this a part that has a drop-in replacement? Or is this just something that a good disassembly with a clean and lube might fix? Thanks?

Pretty common for low end bikes to have this. The hub body is actually bent. It shouldn’t affect shifting performance to any appreciable degree.
Now that it’s spinning I’d get some heavy weight oil into the freewheel and that’s about all the effort it’s worth. As a safety concern, I’d replace the cables and housing too if you’re actually going to ride it.
