Wout van Aert suffers broken collarbone after crashing out of Dwars door Vlaanderen | REACTION 🎥

There was huge drama in the Dwars door Vlaanderen as several of the big hitters were involved in a “nightmarish” crash, including Wout van Aert (Visam-Lease-a-Bike), Mads Pedersen (Lidl-Trek) and Biniam Girmay (Intermarche–Wanty). Van Aert required medical attention after hitting the deck and was forced to abandon the race.

Back feel really about it actually uh I hope he’s doing okay I don’t know anything about it uh um and I was actually a bit uh how you say it confused afterwards uh but Mao still went on the climb which was in the end a good decision I think

We we played it out well with two in the final um personally I’m happy with my feeling after a a hard CR on Friday it’s already much better than in that again but uh yeah really uh disappointed for what happened to what uh it’s unbelievable it really is this

Whole season has been a dream so far I yeah it’s surreal actually living the dream yeah I uh after Peres refocused a bit because I still didn’t have an auto qualification for the Olympics and that’s a big goal for me to make it to the Olympics so now uh I have that in

The pocket and yeah it’s been an insane season I really can’t believe it Stan K congratulations on that Podium spot was that the maximum today I think the maximum would have been second place because uh yeah in the end uh yumbo uh no sorry wisma had the had the numbers

And uh they played it well and I mean I was probably yeah the strongest uh part from them and so uh yeah it was it was impossible for me to to uh yeah to to win this race actually because uh in the end there were both really strong Riders

What did you experience in that uh particular phase yeah it was uh it was a bit hectic before and I was alone I didn’t have a teammate there so uh I I just moved up actually and afterward I hear the crash uh in my yeah at the back

Of me and uh then at the first moment like I think every everyone was a bit shocked and then uh Mato reopened the race and uh uh yeah then we rode away but uh because he he went very fast in the first comments uh there’s already

Talk about um not having that de ever again what’s your take on that yeah I mean I I read that they took it out of T Flanders because there was a crash there last year already uh honestly like there was a few spots like this also when we

Come down from hoton uh to the approach of Tri it’s the same thing and today I was a bit uh in the back and I was also like sometimes it just crosses your mind for a second like wow if because some guys were like on the right hand side in

The gutter and it doesn’t there’s a touch of wheel so it can go so quick like I would say normally like nine time nine time nine times out of 10 it’s okay I I did these races for 10 years now and on the canar B it’s only in the last two

Years that I remember like such big crashes but W yeah if uh it’s hard I it’s hard to avoid you know I mean there’s always going to be a big road and uh when we ride on small road then oh it’s dangerous also unfortunately it’s part
