Hello and welcome back to the Para Sport Update,  produced in collaboration with the Canadian   Paralympic Committee. I’m Greg Westlake. In New  Zealand, Canada’s Wheelchair Rugby Team played   in the World Wheelchair Rugby Qualification  Tournament. Running through the group stage

Undefeated, Canada faced off against Germany with  a chance to punch their ticket to the Games in the   semi-final. In a 58-41 win, Canada booked their  spot at the Paris Paralympics. They finished the   tournament with silver losing to Australia in the  final. Staying down south, Canada’s Para-Cyclists

Were in Brazil for the UCI Track Para-Cycling  World Championships. Mel Pemble continued her   dominant form as she earned a silver in the C3  500m and a bronze in the C3 Omnium. Keely Shaw   seized a bronze in the C4 Individual pursuit, and  Alex Hayward took silver in the C3 scratch race.

Leaving the Rio sun for the Italian Alps for Para  Alpine World Cup action. Kalle Ericcson’s sizzling   rookie season continued as he won the Visually  Impaired slalom, and silvered in the Giant Slalom,   while Michaela Gosselin picked up bronze in the  Standing Slalom. Trading skis for boards, we head

To Kelowna, BC, for the Para World Cup Snowboard  Cross. At Big White, Tyler Turner won the Lower   Limb 1 race in his home province. That’s our  time for this edition of the Para Sport Update,   presented by AMI-audio. Check back next week  for more news from the world of adaptive sports.
