This seems like a game changer. No more struggling up hill.

With the mass acceptance of fat tire electric bicycles, I’d really like to see something like this bicycle camper get picked up for commercial mass production.

With the power these dual motor electric bikes have, a camper in the $3000 – and up range should just be a standard option now.

  1. I don’t think it’s a game changer but it’s a cool project. I have less than zero use for that and can camp more comfortably with a touring bike and two saddle bags, but I love it when people make fun things.

  2. I prefer panniers on the bike and setting up a tent.

A recumbent riding buddy showed up with his “covered wagon,” flatbed Wike trailer with canvas top and bows—simple and lightweight. The “tailgate” area let him sit down to put on his shoes. Jerry is about 80 years old, has a more challenging time leaning over, and has difficulty setting up a tent. So it allows him to “park and sleep.”

I can not find any of his photos, but it was simple and lightweight.

There is a commercial product (simple, 40-pound trailer).
