These are an ACID mudguard set 65 29” (st mount I think) On the front I can’t figure out how to mount them. The instructions are for a mountain bike so don’t really suit the type of bike.
So behind the fork it won’t go far enough up due to the mudguard hitting the fork. And inside basically wouldn’t be able to screw it on.
Sorry about photos 2 & 3 not easy to get a photo of the inside. Not photoed the front has the same issue.
Before I take a heat gun them to narrow them anyone have any advice? Or did I buy the wrong model and should’ve got the BB model though think that should only effect the back mudguard. Any advice is welcome.

Sorry I mean when you try to mount it on the front side of the fork it does not go up high enough also
I wouldn’t try heatgun, as you’ll have mudguards to far from the wheel and it will be less effective. Does the metal plate of the mudguard replacable? I’d go in the direction of lengthening that part, or imrovise some sort of extender for it, should be a few bolts, nuts and a piece of metal any hardware store should cover the need of

Well, the source of the problem is that the guard is too wide for the fork.
You could get one that fits, give the heatgun a try (I’m sceptical) or, if the clearance is good as it is, build/buy some sort of adapter, which should be pretty straightforward.
square peg into round hole but if thats what you got then try a SKS sliding bridge clip, the metal ones to bend it to fit and crimp the edges on. they also do bridge clips if you need extra reach to hole. about 5 bucks.
