Hey everyone,

I’m in the market for a new steel 1x gravel bike and I’ve narrowed it down to two options that are readily available in Europe:

1. [Pelago Stavanger](https://pelagobicycles.com/stavanger/) **(€2700/$2900 USD):** This Finnish brand’s bike is absolutely stunning! I’m in love with the aesthetics.
2. [Ribble Gravel 725](https://www.ribblecycles.co.uk/ribble-gravel-725-grx610/?fbclid=IwAR1Dk2_Om4DFQBNAXbkxka-S0s64QZxPG1RfVT6Nl4JhUrZKrIMLCfVussM) **(custom color, €3000/$3250 USD):** This bike potentially has a superior groupset, but let’s be honest, the stock color is horrendous, and a custom paint job adds a hefty €500 to the price tag.

Here’s my dilemma: I adore the Pelago’s looks, but the Ribble might boast better components. Value-wise, I’m torn.

Would love to hear your thoughts on the pros and cons of each bike and which one brings more value.

Any insights or experiences you have with either brand would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

  1. I’d get Pelago in Grey tundra. 1 more speed isn’t worth additional 300€ + ugly color.

For the 300€ difference I’d get a Garbaruk 11-46 cassette, or 11-50 and a long cage for RD.
