I know this topic has been done to death but with so many opinions and preferences it’s still hard to make sense.

I’ve setup mine with the front of the rise section parallel to the steering axis and it seems right as both the up sweep and back sweep will be as per bar’s specs – relative to me when I’m on the bike.

However, this goes against the concept presented here: [https://www.vitalmtb.com/features/Vital-MTB-How-To-Cockpit-Set-Up,1490](https://www.vitalmtb.com/features/Vital-MTB-How-To-Cockpit-Set-Up,1490) where the rise section is meant to be vertical, meaning it’ll be 22 odd degrees tilted away from me:

Any thoughts?

  1. There’s no one correct angle, but manufacturers usually recommend parallel to the steerer as the default position.
