The exploded view will help with that (tehre are only two ways you can possibly fit those springs).You will need to pfaff about finding the correct return tension setting – the prong on the return spring goes into one of the 3 holes on the frame boss and you need to balance the left and right tensions (normally the springs go in the same hole on the opposing bosses)
You’d probably be best for searching of cyclocross cantilever brake setup. All Cantilever brakes looked like yours in the 80s before becoming more upright with integral springs.
They explain the importance of straddle cable height and setup on performance really well.

I had a set of these dia compe cantis on my Miyata ATB when I bought it a few years ago. Absolutely hated them. They were just worn out and the brake pads would always slip loose and jam against my tire. Make sure you really tighten the brake shoe post into place.
