Well welcome to a new Harry’s Garage video and you find us not in the garage but in Barcelona I’m near Terminal 2 there is a truck behind me em Rogers and this is going to be a road trip special because it’s February we’ve had the most

Miserable winter in the UK will not stop raining and I just want to get on doing some road trips so we are in Spain and we’re going to do a road trip down the coast weirdly sort alante benid dorm yes really down that way cuz the weather down here in February is extraordinary

And particularly this year it’s 21° I’ll go through the route in a moment but yeah if you just come down here you can see what’s been going on it was one of the things was there’s a group of three of us and I’ll explain later why we’ve actually sort of transported the cars

Down here rather than driving if you actually do the math to get to this point it’s about 1250 miles from home so 22,000 mile round trip and I think it’s a great idea using a truck to bring the cars down you’ll look over here and you’ll see the two cars I’ve brought

With us this year so yeah jagra Project 7 no problem it’s one of my favorite for doing road trips in we’re Chasing the Sun I wanted a convertible and the contach now the Countach was not meant to be here this TR trip was actually going to be the Ferrari tester

Rosa and I felt after doing all that work the Ferrari testerossa just makes a good road trip sort of car cuz it’s it’s a GT it’s comfortable I’ve Got a Friend with me he it would be swapping cars and it has a reasonable size boot and we

Just had that refresh done done the paint done that engine out did the cam belts and everything and I just drove it a few weeks ago and I heard the CL Rel bearing singing which was really annoying um so each time he pressed the clutch there a sort of Will and I

Thought I can’t drive it like this I had a clutch in it only yeah 4,000 miles ago and anyway two weeks ago it went in and they checked the clutch yes it was gone I had to replace it and they also noticed a slight weep on the slave cylinder clutch slave cylinder which

When you press the clut it then operates the clutch so I got that changed as well then the Lorry was coming uh we got they got picked up two days ago I went to put just one or two bags in the tesser roer about an hour

Before the Lor is due to picked them up and it was a pull of clutch fluid on the floor couldn’t believe it and the reservoir had gone down they they’ put any seals in for whatever reason the seals had failed so with one hour’s notice

I said oh what do I take it was a tossup between the my little zagato or the contach but I got in my head I was taking one of the big bangers so the Conta this is unprepped I’ve driven it once or twice since it came back from interal doing

All the workshops i’ I’ve checked the tire pressures checked oil and water put some fuel in it and the contach is pressed into service so we have a the downside of that is have quite a small boot so we’ve had to pack particularly lightly prep on the Jager 7 well nothing really

It came back from a as I say didn’t really get much use last year always the challenge of how much boot space there is in this car but I think we’re C with the great thing if you transport the cars down you can prepack the cars so

You only sort of fly out we flew out here and it’s just hand luggage I also had some tires put on it I’ve had some p p zero tires put on it cuz I just noticed on the dates they were getting nearly 10 years old you forget this car

Had it in 2015 so the tires that went on it were late 2014 cuz it was an early build car it’s nearly 10 years old how did that happen so there are bags my friends are going to be here in about 20 minutes but yeah I’ll show you quickly

Show you what we’re going to do the other car I nearly thought about bringing was the Porsche my Turbo but I felt that had Been to Spain before so it should be some else I’m actually quite excited about bringing the contest right what we are doing doing on this road

Trip we’re in Barcelona up there and the first stop we come down basically it’s just going to be Motorway the first dri but I want to head up into the hills here denya this this is where we’re staying there’s some great roads around here you always see if there’s green on

A melin map you just see that’s a good place good roads and I’ve got a special app I’m going to show you how you pick up great roads and then there’s going to be a part two to this road trip because after uh exploring there we then get on

A ferry in denier and we’re off to Palmer and we’re going to be in Mila and I just can’t wait to get a kunas racking around the great RADS in mil as well but yeah should be fun and I can’t believe however after all the rain we set off

Chucking it down with rain I don’t want to drive these cars 2 and a half thousand miles down here in that sort of weather but here in Spain not a breath of win one last thing in Barcelona we stayed in Barcelona last night I stayed

Up very lucky to be a member of Soo house they have a wonderful hotel that’s right on the key and what is happening 22nd of August if I just PE that back you’ll see that the America’s Cup is coming to Barcelona and it’s in August wa starts 22nd of August and goes the

Final is in October look at the website if you want all the details but what a place to stay that’s going to be in a few months time anyway pack up the cars go head out see what we’re going to see Yeah first stop so warm it’s about 20 degrees out there all is good set one of my memory cars in my camera uh pack got full and I wasn’t didn’t realize it was full is a slight dilemma yes a drink I’m letting John lead in The Project 7 it makes life

A lot easier on the navigation right get myself organized there no cup holders in a cach was before they were invented open yeah visibility isn’t the greatest in a cont but the view out the front’s great and uh the soundtrack’s pretty good as well yeah 300 miles to

Go and then tomorrow are the fun bits of road I can’t wait yeah settle back go for a bit of a Motorway Cruise if you can do such a thing in a cut Chach and there’s no gearbox sound listen there’s nothing to listen to which is huge change since the last time

I did a trip in this car first fill up I filled it up with uh sustained field before setting off but I know if they I got it the tank full so uh yeah first fill up at least it got super Leed I’m not sure €85 a

Liter it’s not it’s pretty similar isn’t it that’s about 170 uh yeah equivalent in Sterling I think yeah this is not odd yeah it’s very odd so funny it’s got two tanks on a cach with a little tiny pipe that joins them together and it’s the devil

To fill the tanks on them and it’s very frustrating you go like this you click click click for about 10 minutes and you get in and you’ve got three qus of a tank anyway we’re putting a fair bit inking over there well that’s the motorway stretch done

And we’re turning off at the Turning for benador the last place I thought I’d ever visit in a Lamborghini Countach there we are it’s just a Motorway slog but it does get quite pretty near the end it’s sort of just a bit more Scenic few curves through a few tunnels that

Sort of thing but yeah a lot of trucks more trucks than we all expected okay box and yeah you just shoot along you’re doing sort of 130 clicks indicating something like that but every now and then you have to slow for all the trucks but yeah we’re only

We it says 13 mil away from where we’re staying tonight I also did a noise test I was intrigued just how noisy the kach was and it is noisy it was 86 87 DB in here so yeah I think that’s probably the noisiest car I’ve tested but I was get a

Little bit over 60 M hour at the time I sort of got to concentrate but the skyl is so bidor yeah all the skyscrapers over there you might well not exactly skyscrapers but big hotels all down there this is where all the action is we got be able to

See yeah we’re heading up into those Hills over there so a very different part of the World we here designed for adults beautiful Valley very different so last night’s Hotel reception oh damn it landscape hotels well we have arrived I got to find a parking space now I’m I’m I’m not electric and I’m not disabled yet so I can’t park where down the front but we’ll find another

Spot and yeah good day your’ll catch us later when we’ve all on Pats and we’ll tell you what’s happening tomorrow well morning well welcome to vivu this is where we’ve stayed the last couple of days vud landscape hotel quite a crazy place and you have this incredible Vista

Down this Valley and it’s quite an interesting Hotel this one cuz you each have a sort of individual sort of cabins or rooms and there it’s like a pod on stilts and we’re at the top of the hill it was fairly modest p uh pod but I

Thought it was really very good and my friends stayed in their Villa option that they have here oh my goodness it’s ridiculous it’s it’s sort Walkin giant pod and you go down to a basement where bedroom is and uh bathrooms and things and then upstairs is sort of kitchen

Area and then there’s another area with a sort of Jacuzzi pool whatever and in a veranda sitting out area but uh yeah a very interesting place to stay um we went out yesterday just to try the rose in the project 7 CU what I want to show

You today is there’s an app on my phone and it’s a very clever app it’s um I think it’s german-based and it’s a for motorcyclists and they put on the best roads they’ve been on in certain areas so it loads up this database of really good roads there it is C

Coto open it up and it’s it’s basically discover rides or near my location it will actually show you some of the great roads and rides around here I think it’s really clever this so if I go to map I can go there and I can do new ride and I

Can do if you’re staying somewhere and you want to try where you want to be you can go to there you can say do a circular round trip from your hotel to somewhere on there you can decide how long a round trip you want we’re not

Doing that I’m going to do a tour so I’m going to go plan tour and then I will add some way points so start current location these if I just show you this is where we are and the highlighted RADS are sort of red are are the really good driving

Roads there we are all all there so it will try and knit together not unlike Google Maps that would just plan the quickest rout or or alternative this one will actually bring you the best most exciting road so what I want to do today I want to go there first and then I’m

Going to add another uh w point so I’ve added that one I’m going to put one on there’s a market here we’d quite like to visit and then I put the final destination of denya there we go and it’s ten me that’s a 60 M Route 1 hour 43 and there are 109

B on the route so I can that is the route away from our hotel so that’s what we’re going to do today head up this way go and enjoy some of the great roads drop by where I get to number two drop by a market there Sunday market and then head

Down to the coast but it’s uh yeah I think it’s an interesting route if you’re on these sort of driving holidays that’s a very good app to have there is a premium for it right but the next first job though is the packing challenge for the contest

It’s a very useful pod in there if you look at the boot there’s a little protective side screen if you have a cach and and it’s normally there if you take it out you can then put a bag down in the wing like that which is really

Handy um another little top tip if you’re on travels these naked protein bars if you want a snack in the car naked are worth sort of searching out because the there is no crumbs no nothing what annoys me in yeah if you’re eating crisp or something at bites or

Something with chocolate in a car really bad idea these are sort of fruit bar compressed impossible to have a crumb or drop anything in the car so yeah NY protein bars there’s all sorts to choose from are good on a road trip what else I got to get in my

Bag the secret boot on a cach is that and that’s really handy the trouble is it’s not waterproof so I just keep clean material the tools and that sort of thing in there but I can sneak an extra bag in there cuz it should be dry

Today and then I put that one on top there we go just coat to put away and we can get going electric F pumping It’s just starting to get a bit more interesting yeah there crash barriers do put you off and going a bit silly these giant concrete teeth they put out and you might notice I don’t change gear very often in contach on a road like this oh cuz the effort one the effort in

The steering you can’t like I can just about hold it with one p but basic is a two job to hold this steering wheel and get it around the corners two there is so much Tor in this engine you don’t really gain much you just be going too

Quick in the corners and then it breaks it’s to but you’re not wrestling the steering there quite a physical workout on a road like this looks like there little damp patches if you really were pressing on to catch it out but yeah apart from well basically motion side coming they were

Coming down and a few cists as well this is where I saw the professional teams all obviously practicing there must be a camp they must stay here for winter Training it’s so Hest this car but the steering loads are quite something yeah we don’t get Rose l in the UK 970 m ,000 m L roads we came out here to drive on dryer better SED as well so a workout in this car oh I’d

Like to change gear but I can’t let go of the wheel Where to be All watch the brakes go slide these SL Wow you couldn’t do many miles like that I it must have been like the old days of doing L more on some of those real big brutish cars yeah quite grateful when a straight appears this that be 12 there’s so much grun in this engine so it should be with a fresh

Rebuild of 3.2 L pushing lot of lot of weight 14 14 18 Kil I yeah we’re just visiting the local market it looks very active down here and uh we got spotted somewhere to park you just have a look here obviously we’re in a Lamborghini I think this is

Why the guy wanted me to park here yeah look at his make of tractor it’s also a Lamborghini so yeah very fitting have a Lamborghini tractor next to the contas amazing Market absolutely rammed on on every Saturday apparently all sorts of stuff there’s Furniture in there lots of cars and toy cars

Tools nothing we could really fit in a contach though but uh yeah we’re now we’re just making our way to the ferry but I think the Highlight is going to be parking next to a Lamborghini tractor never expected to do that I think it made his day as well we’re in

The queue for the ferry but while we’re sat here uh the ferry leaves an hour and 20 minutes I thought I’d just run through the sort of man maths of why we had the cars transported over rather than driving them from the UK you know I said earlier weather Etc but the cost

Implications are worth looking at and on an Arctic that brought the the cars across in actual fact there were just the half three cars on there and The Sweet Spot is if you can gather together six cars cuz that’s what an Arctic takes and then it becomes very economic to

Do because your the cost for the ual truck is about 42,000 each way so from picking up in Oxford taking to uh Barcelona 4 and half 4,450 4,450 back and then a customs charge of around 400 450 so if you were to do six cars you would be

1900 total cost to have your car brought from your home to Barcelona so you fly into Barcelona Airport cars are already and waiting off you go and that’s 22,000 M saved running your car now in a Countach at 17 MPG it’s probably 12300 in fuel in the

P7 which is better on fuel it’s about 800 but then you’ve got to add on the eura tunnel 50200 minimum nearer 300 in highest season you then not going to drive 1250 mi in one hit so you’re then going to stay the night in a hotel and there’s

Added costs there and it soon adds up and hang on a minute £2,000 doesn’t sound quite so b as I thought it was if you do the ferry across Portsmouth Bill b or something it’s more money than you might imagine with a cabin you’re up to, 1200 return something like that and yeah

It I’m it’s always surpris uring how much it cost with the three cars we didn’t fully fill an Arctic uh we paid about £99,000 all in for three cars so £3,000 each including the Customs which is yeah more but we only had three cars that I wanted to bring across I use em

Rogers because they’re so busy they have so many trucks everything’s a non-issue to them and they do this run every single day amazing the number they do a lot that work with a lot of Manufacturers and the other thing to consider if you are caring about emissions and things a truck does about

12 MPG 12 to 13 MPG you put six cars on there and you bring them two and a half th000 miles there and back you would have to have a car if you’re one of six doing 72 MPG to match the amount of fuel used by one truck bringing six cars that

Distance say sort of another Factor there if you want to put it in I like it because it keeps the Mars down the car so it saves two and a half th000 Mi wear and tear and service intervals so there you go there’s a bit of man maths why I

Use a truck to do that sort of distance and at this time of year I just don’t want to experience the grossy weather risk in February in the UK and northern France and over the pinees I just arrive sunny weather go out in the cars go

Enjoy myself put it on a truck and fly home yeah you have to put flights in there but actually they’re quite cheap flights to Barcelona there’s lots of people who fly there and 50 60 lb each way is quite easy to do but anyway we’re going to hang around another hour and we

Be on a fery to Palmer well morning from Palmer in mayorca and a beautiful hotel we’re in the hospice Marell here right by the Sea it is absolutely stunning walk through those doors over the veranda and you just have the see it’s beautiful day not

A cloud in the sky it’s uh yeah 10 to 12 it’s about 1890 degrees and very very nice so yeah we arrived on the ferry last night quter 10 something like that it’s a 5H hour Crossing all very comfortable and went straight to the hotel here last night it’s only this

Hotel is only I think it was 9 minutes from the fairy turmoil so it couldn’t be better and what we I’m going to do today I’m going to give the cach a bit of a rest worked hard yesterday and we yeah we just hijacked the project 7 I’ve

Literally just taken the roof off it’s looking a bit grubby cuz we actually went out in all that rain a couple of days ago just to check the route but yeah I’m really looking forward to today we’ll see if we can give it a little clean up later so today well you

Just can’t go wrong on this island we there is just the most amazing roads this just on a map we’re in Palmer stunning all this West Coast is done a lot of car launches are done here and a very good reason one you got the weather

Etc but I’m going to go back to my Coto app and just show you how it works here if I just flick on here and it says near my location when you open it up and it’s rides that is an epic ride and you see

It’s got um yeah five for fun five for scenery five for road condition it doesn’t get any better if I open it up that is sort of the route so Palmer all the way down up here it it as I say you cannot go wrong with the sort of views

You get on this route against the sea that for a bit of Road amazing amazing bit of uh Road around here and if I go back to that Route 119 Mi 4 hours 36 minutes quite a long way so I’m going to sort a cherry pick today but yeah

We’re going to head out of here see what those roads are like see how busy it is out there it’s a cycling Mecca obviously in newor as well I say being a Sunday we’ll go and see just drove out the hotel within a kilometer that was a place to wash the

Car I have quickly washed the car I put the Cali Moto on my phone set it going and you actually get readout and it actually goes to car plate which is really handy so we’re straight on it as soon as we come out the hotel so yeah whether we

Do the whole route today I don’t know but we’re certainly going to set off and glorious day for it we’ve just actually tweaked where we’re heading so I’ve cut through the middle put in salur this is just typical you just click around here there was a tunnel approaching just on

The main road suddenly told me to get off the road and take the road we’re now on which is over the top rather than using the tunnel which is typical of this Coto app that it’s obvious every every other navigation device will take you through the tunnel of course but

This will actually take you up this crazy bit of road now I don’t know how narrow it’s going to be but it’s quite fun look a bit you just want to swing around yeah a quite random these tunnels no warning go around a corner straight for a solid Hill of

Rock have a little stop yes we are on this little tiny green road down here uh I I wish I’d got a bigger Scale map but Palencia is the sort of end destination but um yeah we’re right up in the hills it’s quite a variable Road some moments

You think oh this is good and it’s wider than you expect and then we went through this tunnel complete the surprise right at the very top of this pass and then down the other side it really got quite narrow and I got behind two or three cyclists who were bombing down 60 70

Clicks on the way down and there was nothing we could do and it was only just wide enough to pass cars along there no chance of uh getting past the cyclist but they were getting pretty quick anyway so yeah it’s a I mean it’s a stunning area but on a Sunday my

Goodness it’s busy and you catch these gangs of cyclists up and there’s yeah there’s nothing you can do about it but I think if I lived here I would be enjoying it just as much as they would on a bike or something but it’s nice being in this and open and just enjoying

The Heat and the warmth although we did see about 14° at the top but um compared to the UK in February that’s still not bad at the moment it’s 18 19° and every now and then you stumble across these sort of reservoirs very pretty scenery though proper in the middle of nowhere

Goats and things appear at every now and then as well anyway we’ll press on and see what else this road has got to offer it’s the ma10 if you look on a map I’m very glad I’m not in the cach on a road like this it’ be quite a challenge in that

Car at least in this you’re sort of in the open open you can hear actually other cars coming it’s very few cars he says speak of the devil yeah it’s quite a spectacular Road Well morning welcome to day two on mayorca on this lovely trip to this incredible Island and blessed with this weather in February I keep having to pinch ourselves that it’s February and we were getting a bit of a suntan yesterday yeah those rows yesterday they were quite challenging I am so pleased

That I only took the project seven up there we sort of did a wrecky for what we’re going to do today that cach would have struggled up there I would have ended up very grumpy and with some very strong arms trying to get around some of

Those band and they’re just so tight and all those cyclists I was pre-warned that they were a bit testing the rows around here they’re not a sort of dynamic sort of rows those I hope we’re going to see today and what would yeah I’ll just show

You what we’ve done on here it’s a beautiful Bay we’re in here it’s completely calm we just watched a plane I thought it was going to scoop up water one of those fire protection planes that’s doing a sort of practice run down here I think yeah it’s just I can just

See it it’s landed on the water but we went up from Pala yesterday and we went towards so up here there was a tunnel and that’s where we sort of dived off the main road and headed up into the hill crazy bit of road then dropped down

And then took this it’s a MC 10 ma1 which is this road here too challenging really too crowded and we bottled out there uh at Inca Let’s see we came down to Inca yesterday and came back to the hotel really nice I think some guys have yeah recognized the Countach

We’re getting the contest does surprise people an unseen car on the roads of everywhere really not just here anyway where are we yeah so we can out get today what we’ve just done we’ve driven up here a Cuda up here and then we’re just going to drive along we’re by this

Bay here beautiful Bay and just go to um I’m not sure how far whe we actually get out to the lighthouse but basically it’s up up there the roads again are going to be quite challenging but um who’s in the my project 7 holiday here and he just

Wants to revisit it we’ll see how it is after that though we’re then heading more to the um east of the island we’re going to head down here cuz this is pretty soon this is Cliffs I think this is where the car launches happen over this side so this map was not behaving

But manacore we come along the coast down to manacore go back to the hotel just have a look at some more rows in this area but um yeah moment we’re just going to yeah enjoy this sort of Stillness about half 11 in the morning not a breath of wind little

Bit more sun would be nice but it’s 17 18° so we’re not complaining well we just reached the top where this Lighthouse is it’s pandemonium up here there’s no space I would not visit here in a car if you’re into bikes and you want to cycle up here fine but yeah it’s

Just not made for the number of people who want to come up here unfortunately just a disaster I’ve been slightly mean I’ve kicked John out of the project 7 and put him in the Countach which he’s never driven before so uh I think he’s out he’s got to have a little workout is

Very heavy all the controls on it and it’s a shock if you basically been driving a thing with power steering automatic gearbox I mean it’s part of the sensation of it it’s part of the fun of it it is so fiscal so raw you have to control this mad car here Cruise easy

All very nice but we’ve got yeah 57 minutes and then we’re on the other side island 35 mil away We’ve come to the other side of the island the roads have completely changed they’re big and open some really quick roads like being in France got a tractor up ahead and got the contast and everyone behind but yeah bit more of a road trip we’ve just been down by the coast very pretty

I just cannot get over how different one side ofor is to the other side yesterday all those super twisty super narrow roads now today come over to the east side of the island big vast open roads sort of sweeping bends very much as I say like being in south of

France and relatively empty over here less tourists and less cyclists it’s not quite as suited to what cyclists want they want the hills they want the challenge of the climbs and that sort of thing but uh it’s a welcome relief I think we’re just heading up into some

Hills here if you look as I’ve got C Moto on again and uh yeah it looks like it’s taking us off the main road after this roundabout and as a little set of twist is just coming up you can choose to ignore them and just go straight on

You can see this road does actually go straight on but I’m because you know I just want to have a look and how this app works I think I’ll take the little twisty route see what it’s like well morning we’re making our way out of Valencia um quite a lot has happened

Since you last joined us last time we were in mayorca and we did some Roots there and then we had to catch early morning Ferry away from the hotel from Palmer into Valencia and I think it’s a good time just to summarize what we found with all

The roads and what we’ve experience over the last few days um yeah mayorca was was interesting I had hoped that Coto app was going to find me some fantastic roads out there but that Sunday we went out and did the famous ma10 well yeah that was pretty

Crowded and I have to say a bit of a disappointment there was just no real chance to stretch the project 7 legs lot of cyclists out there roads were twisty beyond belief and narrow so you just couldn’t risk it very seening very beautiful but not really the dynamic

Roads I was looking for I was very glad we then headed um East and the big bigger roads over there wider much more suited and there are pockets of great bits of Road out there but it is not sort of feston everywhere every road you tackle is just fantastic it’s not like

That in the AUST so a slight disappointment really I know they’re there I’ve done them on car launches and that sort of thing roadwise those roads in the Hills above benador Exel they were fabulous and that caloto app just was feston with roads you could do and really good roads great

Little um towns villages to visit along the way and that was a that was the hit of this road trip I think was discovering that area is an area I would love to go back to anyway we took the fair out of Palmer it’s almost all day we

Arrive in Valencia about a half past 6 it’s quite an industrial port and you Valencia though was a bit of surprise really nice um vibe to it a proper City we stayed in a in a City hotel part of the same group as we were staying in

Palmer and my boy it was it challenging it was not contach friendly hotel at tour lots of sort of cycleways Pathways oneway systems crowded with traffic tiny little rows and then the parking was a serious challenge dropped down into an underground car park they did have private parking but yeah I’m much rather

Of been in the zag than in the count but anyway we stayed there and that’s where we left this morning I think I also ought to run through the cars as well um I was asking John how he’ found on the project 7 and we’re trying to discuss I really

Enjoy the car I should say hands up I love a roader proper car like that I just find it really enjoyable and especially one with near 600 horsepower it makes a very exciting combination but we’re trying to think of something you know that we didn’t enjoy quite so much

And I suppose the only thing we could really come up always obviously the fiddly roof but it it goes with the territory the same as a pora spider or like you know I had that Ferrari 550 bareta that had a bloody awful roof until I swapped it but the the roof on

The project 7 the I quite enjoy it because fully waterproof and you can go 130 mph plus with it with no issues I have tried this and can confirm that is absolutely true and it’s super light and it’s what gives that car its Dynamics it’s probably 15 80 kilos 70 80 kilos

Having that mechanical roof means it drops 50 60 kilos over a standard F Type and then he cut then it has to cut down screen all the rest of it and that weight but is only about 80 90 kilos heavier than a Lotus amera but it’s got

50% more power and torque so it’s a very exciting thing so yeah the roof yeah downsizing upsid the other thing we thought well when it’s all sort of backed off and in Normal mode could being automatic it you could almost describe it as being a bit ordinary but when you’re in Valencia and

You’re trying to find a hotel that’s a good thing but it’s surprising how mellow and quiet it goes and but then you light it up put it in Dynamic turn traction controls off and you have an absolute animal of a roadster turn it into the C well that’s

Just mad all the time it has no easy Zone it’s just full on from the moment you turn the key well probably the moment you actually sort of walk up to it and just look at its design it is crazy and that’s sort of what I love

About it it is full on and you enjoy its engine you enjoy its performance but everything’s heavy heavy steering heavy brakes heavy gear change heavy throttle action everything so it never gives up on that it never calms down so you’ve got to be aware of that

With this car but I think it gives real highs and when it’s wound up wow does it sound good and so yeah I I really like the good for its wild sign but at no point does it relax oddly both John um yeah quite really surprisingly comfortable this car people say they’re

Uncomfortable we find the seats terrific um good driving position weirdly lots of space good odd easy to store so yeah that’s that’s the kach and then there was one more car and that was our friend Nigel and he has a lovely 89 Porsche 9911 convertible we persuaded him to buy

That last year great example it’s only 35 36,000 Marti from new straightforward electric roof just hit a button down it goes no captures no nothing and it’s just the most versatile car you can it can do the EAS it’s got 5-speed gearbox that one G50 lots of space in it because You’ got

The rear seat so you can bun an extra bag or two there so much space they actually went out to lunch one time four up in it he’s really enjoyed it he’s really got to like the car on this and then you do wind it up and it’s quicker

Than you think cuz those early 911s are much lighter than they are today so that’s that and the final bit I think on this road trip is proving what a great option it is to transport your cars out here from the moment we pick those cars up from Barcelona airport it’s just fun

We can just do the best roads we enjoy this great weather super Sunny we have done if I look at the marage we’re on 41 we’ve done 1,00 colomet so let’s say about 650 Mi and we have 100 Mil to go to Barcelona airport so yeah it keeps the marage down

And you get to enjoy it what I found from doing these road trips if you have a big SLO to like here this destination all you remember on the is when you finally get home is the 1250 Mi slog back home rather than the juicy

Bits which is why you did the road trip in the first place so I love using the lorri for us with just three cars it’s a more expensive option it cost us £3,000 per car but I think it will cost knocking a door of £2,000 in fuel hotels Euro

Tunnel lunches suppers all that sort of thing to bring a car to Barcelona and take it back home again if you are driving not using a truck if you are in that sweet spot with six cars on an Arctic Truck well then you’re matching the same cost as you driving there and

Back yourself if you’re in a car that does 2025 MPG so yeah a great trip we found the sun we had our proper temperatures we’re in the 20s while we’ve been out here and it’s February I will happily return to this area of Spain again really enjoyed it I hope you

Enjoyed this video as well well if you did keep watching keep subscribing cuz there’s more videos coming on very soon thanks for watching

  1. Seeing my favourite supercar of all time being driven today on some of the best mountain roads abroad is fantastic, I have been glued to the screen.

I fell in love with the Countach back in the late eighties when a local Hotelier bought what he thought was one of the last of these cars as an investment unknowingly that Chrysler was to buy them.

It was silver with a gold lower body and a rear spoiler. It was parked inside a dedicated showroom at the rear of the hotel, many times I walked past there on my lunch break.

Occasionally the car drove down Felixstowe high street on a Saturday, needless to say it sounded wonderful and turned several heads.

    Great Channel.

  2. I've driven those roads in the north of Majorca, beautiful but teriffying as they are so narrow. You've got to hand it to Harry for taking such valuable cars around that area.

  3. I’ve been to that lighthouse as well Harry. Took an age to get up there and when we did there is nothing there and nowhere to park. Fortunately I was in a Nissan Juke hire car with power steering!

  4. Hello, next time you take the ferry to Santander or Bilbao, try Alisas Pass, Caracol pass, La Braguia pass or San Glorio pass. I think you will not be disappointed. Some are just 30 min from harbour and there are other great roads in the area.

  5. Great journey thanks for taking us along. Really appreciated the maths for the transport options , very interesting and will work well for a lot of people …..if you build in the cost of loss of earnings for an additional two or three days whilst driving through France that makes the lorry option even more attractive for those working.

  6. Hey Harry, at 17:05 when you start it up why do you rev it up right away? Is it better for classic car engines? I know you seem to have very good knowledge of how the engines work. The countach is absolutely breathtaking. Cheers from Canada!

  7. Harry….you paint pictures in our minds of things we should have done when young…but could never do. I did do 2300 miles around Germany when I was 20 in my Dad’s 1964 Austin 1100….yet it gave me inspiration that has lasted another 55 years. Now my wife is not so well and long trips are getting too much but we still try to keep going…later this year…a return Berlin and down to Austria would be nice..we just need more brave pills! Keep travelling Harry…we can imagine being with you..just not on quite the same level! 😃😃😃😃

  8. Oh dear, what a mega expensive balls-up. Majorca in the spring is rammed solid with cyclists, even cyclists complain about other cyclists! And even if the roads were empty they are no way suitable for a car like the Countach.

  9. This haulage company have just been fined for bringing illegal immigrants in 😮, get behind them to help fight it , even the driver is getting done for illegal immigrants climbing on his wagon without him knowing.

  10. I like how you use the same justification for using a truck to move the cars around like I do explaining to my wife why I bought a 12 pack of Guinness rather than a 4 pack.

  11. Great trip, enjoyed the video as always Harry. One observation, I thought the Countach sounded exactly like my old TVR Tuscan! Then again its half a V12

  12. Going by boat to Bilbao in June to traverse the Pyrenees west to east with a week break on the costa brave and east back again and back to England through France in my Jaguar F type 5 litre R AWD 550 hp ,can’t wait your trip reminded me

  13. I lost my virginity in Denia in the 80s and cycled all over Mallorca in the 90s. Living off my wits and food I found in fields. That whole route and region is in my veins and formed me. I’m going back next year in my hilux and penman trailer camping set up, to see if I can bring those days back to some degree….

  14. Calimoto is an awesome App for motorcycling.. I use it for every single tour.
Buuuuut: you have to be a bit careful with its settings. It will always try to find the best "curve index" on your route, which can lead to extremely narrow roads that aren't always suitable for driving a car on them… especially when you are in "Mediterranean" regions. Northern Italy is another example. Some of those roads barely fit an (original) Fiat500.
So sometimes it is worth it to try out the next "less curvy" base setting for your tour

  15. That lambo is something else. What a beautiful machine and that engine noise is just incredible. Loved this video. Thank god your Ferrari fell to bits. In a nice way😉

  16. I was eagerly waiting for the latest road trip video but this left me disappointed. Going through the motions of creating content rather than truly feeling like there was excitement with the itinerary and being in this part of the world. More Holiday with Cliff Michelmore than Harry’s Garage.
