So I’ve got 4 1mm washers per side on each pedal to extend my q factor a bit as I have wider hips than my crank was made for.
There are roughly 3 threads on each side exposed inside the crank, should I take a washer out or will the pedals be durable enough like this.
Thanks

I’d probably look for longer pedal spindles. I know that ultegra had a +4 spindle at one point.
That sounds like an accident waiting to happen. Get longer axles.
Don’t do that. Get pedal extenders.
Next week: “how do I fix stripped threads?”
You need a wider bottom bracket axle to widen your Q factor, but to widen your pedal stance use pedal extensors or try pedals with longer spindles or if using flats, bigger platforms.
Not sure what type of pedals you run, but Shimano has a +4mm option. You can buy the entire pedal, or just replace the pedal axles (it comes as an assembly with the bearings, so its a pretty easy swap). You can get the part numbers [here](https://dassets.shimano.com/content/dam/global/cg1SHICCycling/final/ev/ev/EV-PD-R8000-4232.pdf).
