Was trying to convince myself to just jump into dropbars and get a $1600 entry gravel bike or $2800 axs etap grizl then this roadlite went on sale for $550 plus shipping.
My thoughts were, Cues is probably crap and 10sp 1x won’t be enough, but I could swap on a 105 or grx groupset for a decent price and then maybe do a dropbar conversion.
Well F that, with the 46t chainring this 10sp is exactly what I needed. Coming from 12s deore 30t. Gaps on the fast end are at a great distance. I live in the middle of the cassette instead of consistently being in the 11t on the mtb. Drive train is so much smoother and quieter. Practically silent hub, there is a slight slower response when shifting but it’s so smooth without the clunk and peddle kick I am used to.
I had very lightly used set of 32 gravelkings that looks and feel great. Super happy with this ride, less than 1k for everything bike, delivery, new contact point. Super happy, and damn I love a flatbar!
I have some grips on the way but still got a quick 10miles in at this setup.
