TODAY’S SUBJECT is a latest look at the Pipeline being laid from Hinckley to Hartshill.

I am retired from two careers of primary school teaching when I was deputy head of a Middle School and Primary School, and as a self employed Chalkboard Artist from 2002 until I reached the grand old age of 65 in 2016. Since I retired it’s like a second childhood but with more expensive toys.

I play guitar and write songs and have written about 14 songs for the local BBC radio station. I run a weekly (weakly) evening Acoustic session at a local pub and have been doing so for 14 years now. I also started an afternoon acoustic session in a quite large cafe in Nuneaton. Both premises were former songwriting clients of mine.

Much of the music I use on this channel is taken from epidemicsound.com free to use on Youtube for a reasonable monthly fee, and sometimes I suffer you with my own music.

Iphone 15 Pro for camera, generally front facing so I can see myself in frame. Super quality especially if I keep the lens clean.

Mono pod is a Manfrotto Compact MMC3-02 and is very useful for getting high angles that look like low flight drone shots and so easy to carry on my bike along with the mini tripod.

Good morning it’s John Neil here and it’s Saturday the 16th of March 2024 it’s a gorgeous Day and it’s a lovely day to come down to the heartsill sewage works the water treatment plant if you will to see what progress is being made on the uh new sewer line that they’re putting from Hinkley to hartel here so a quick look at the map shows

The sewage works at hinley the new pipeline’s going along here under the A5 up to the junction of Home Lane and the watland street and then it goes downhill through concrete pipes fed by gravity past cut all the way to the sewage works at haril which is where I am at the

Moment and uh Little Bird tells me because I have my contacts at 7 Trent that um they’ve made some progress you might have seen my other videos uh about this project because Mr Bert Pickering very kindly took me for a tour of the works he’s the sort of general manager

The whole thing from Seven Trent and he informs me that they’ve started work now at this end the bottom end if you will um with the concrete pipeline I say the bottom end because it’s being gravity fed from uh High Lane Junction with the A5 gravity fed all the way down here to

Heart so Waterworks my Graphics have gone very old school now pencil and paper look uh the distance from high Lane Junction of to heart so Waterworks is in fact 4 kilometers 4,000 MERS there’s a drop of 23 M which is quite a lot but it does

Mean that the drop let’s say every 10 m I work out to be only 5 cm so it is downhill but only gradual and it must be a terrific engineering feat to manage to get that as accurately built as they are going to do so well done the engineer

From Hinkley to that point on high Lane it’s being pumped through some plastic pipes look at the other videos it’s all on there so I think the thing to do today is to put the Drone up and have a Clos look and see what they’re getting on With Well I can’t see any concrete pipes going in and I’m not quite sure what these plastic pipes are for either but it’s pretty clear that they are making some progress to Tunnel underneath the river anchor and if you go to The Far Side you can clearly see the hole in the

Ground look where the tunnel will start keep it co and I know You you want Something and I would bet my bottom dollar that this is the start of the hole where the tunnel is going to emerge on this side of the Ranka too So having got back to the takeoff Point all I can do now really is have another close look at the Waterworks here at Hartsville and I always find it quite fascinating because the last thing you want to do is to fall into one of These I will say this the river anchor just Downstream from the Waterworks is extremely [Applause] Clear it appears that uh progress is being made but I’m not quite sure what’s going on on um there’s certainly a lot of attention being given to the uh the river section over there CU they’ll have to do tunnel underneath that and then once they get here they’re going to have

To Tunnel again to get into the the Waterworks behind me anyway there you go um progress is being made um watch this space and we’ll see what happens in the future okay well thanks for watching and uh I’ll see you next time no you’ll see
