Is it raining Lee just a little bit just a little bit day 3 and it’s foggy and Misty and and very Welsh and um almost ready to go there’s the bikes and the uh soggy tents so today is Friday we’re heading to abeni to go meet uh Jay on the KTM
And and then hopefully going to go do a little bit of the breens and then coming back here tonight the weather being like this I’m not sure how much footage I’m going to get because GoPros are expensive um so uh we’ll see how that works out
Okay so day three heading into the uh rain in the Mist oh Roger first stop on the agenda get some fuel everything is working extremely hard to stop being Misty but because there’s so much moisture even my non-fog visor is fogging probably because me and everything else in it is very wet
Morning what are we like where are you off to believe it or not leads leads there a warning from Sheffield upwards but I think it gets worse the north the farther north you go hey if it’s not raining it’s not an adventure they said there’s no such
Thing as bad weather just the wrong clothing oh that’s true okay my hands were getting cold because RI yeah Gort gortex this is a is not waterproof these are absolutely soaked and I thought gortex was supposed to be waterproof it’s not so the garage of Nick some uh gloves which actually look at
That actually ring them out um so it’s keeping some of the wind chill off anyway get some new flaming gloves that are waterproof so please tell me your recommendations for decent waterproof gloves so so far we’ve done 33 mil in the absolute torrential rain and it has eased off slightly now
So I’ve just taken a Gamble and put the camera back on I mean it is beautiful with the the low cloud and everything it’s a lot of Wildlife bird spotting here if you’re uh into your what’s that called bird spotting TI tit oh it’s tit something isn’t it
Titler if you’re a bird spotter you’re a tiator t what the heck is the name for bird spotting twitcher that’s it twitcher if you’re a twitcher there’s a lot of for Birds here wow good morning not far to go now before it’s time for a cup of tea breakfast and wait
For Jay and uh Siggy the amazing super adventure KTM oh Roger you’re going to get your boyfriend back there he is hello it’s the Soggy J huh I beat you here yeah it’s a bit soggy how are you how did I beat you here I don’t know I didn’t even go on the
M well you you’re on Ziggy which way are we going that way oh I’ve got a brand new combine arester I’ll give you the key Is well this is some of the most fun I’ve had in a while this is cool is there still a Triumph behind me oh that was slippery he oh oh Oh You think it’s say gorgeous I didn’t expect you to be under that lid well thank you very much all right yeah you get over here all it is it’s just a bit of a rough surface okay we’re going to put time out down oh you know we have
The best part at 2 in of rain I know bastard that’s why this bank went down there and that bank went down there this is all Bank repair is it oh 3 years ago oh 3 years ago and but I told you Appo as you go up above the village
Through the Narrows the road is bloody rough there you want to keep your eyes open and pick your way okay thank you very much Sheeps so this I believe is the gospel pass ah oh so pretty Roger don’t sink I don’t know what the what the roads like that it’s taking us on now roads they’re black um Road things what sort of roads it’s taking us on we’re pretty much are we on proper
Roads now okay I said I think you could probably do with half a point or something um there was a plan there was a pub just up there we could go go back to that oh at least my gloves are dry after putting them on the radiators last night okay
So the plan today we were going to head um up through the devil staircase to Devil’s Bridge and then off to barmouth to barmouth bridge however I’ve had a look and barmouth Bridge is um is temporarily closed which is a shame cuz we’re not going to be able to ride across it
So we’re going to have to find J Bridge cuz he likes Bridges but apparently dams all do as well the weather forecast is looking a lot better today uh it’s going to be cloudy I don’t mind Cloud but it’s not forecast to rain which is going to be
Amazing now the Owl’s Nest t- room is literally just up here assume it’s around to the backage how’s about this then Okie croaky the sun is shining so Ian has set us up with a nice uh Wiggly route going through some places that he recommends I’m going to see how that works
Out the Ford at the bottom of the Devil’s Pass may or may not be crossable rainbow houses [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] oh [Applause] Oh [Applause] Oh [Applause] Go [Applause] oh [Applause] [Laughter] wow Wow I’ll say it again for a third time just in case you didn’t hear it wow [Applause] [Applause] Well that’s a relief I thought this was going to be Underwater He He It’s quite a popular biking Road scooters love it I love It St M he

nice one charlie first class
You certainly had the right motorcycle for the adventure riding.
Glad you survived the conditions Charlie. A very entertaining video.
Beautifully filmed and edited thank you for taking us along .
I tried many waterproof gloves but unfortunately they all were not waterproof. A System that works quite welll is to wear acid gloves over the normal gloves. Dry, warm and cosy all the time 😊
Goretex apparently have a lifetime guarantee, so call them about the gloves
Thank you for this beautiful video (as usual). You asked for advice about waterproof gloves. The best thing is to put muffs (not sure of the translation…) on the handle-bar. You'll tell me it bring us back to the 70's😊 and that it is not nice looking. But it protect from the rain… and the cold in winter.🙂
Birdwatchers are certainly not called Tittivators ! 😂 Re Gloves, I use Oxford Mondial gloves, they are laminated and not a drop gets in 👍🏻
Great video again Charlie. In a recent video Fort Nine bursts the goretex bubble. I usr Macna Futon heated gloves. When wet you hands keep nice and warm, and with 2 pairs of 3000Mah I'm good for 10 to 12hrs. Grts Danny
Some of them rainy day trips are the ones we really remember. That storm was so big it made the news down here in New Zealand
Great video Charlie. On the subject of Gore-Tex well respected YouTuber 'Fortnine' (1.83 million subscribers) has done a very recent video entitled 'Gore-Tex is a marketing gimmick.' Well made and very watchable video.
I always thought Goretex was waterproof too, Charlie. It was the main reason why it was expensive.
How miserable for you Charlie. Perhaps invest in some heated grips
Excellent drone footage of the dam!
Thankyou2much 4 the terrific vids …. you're quite brave souls to be out killing it in that weather…… save your pence if you can & come ride w/us in the Sierra Nevadas …..high and dry …….C U soon
Get caught out, use a pair of plastic gloves from petrol stations that are used for diesel pumps. Put these on first and normal gloves on top. Be careful as they may make throttle control a little awkward but at least you have dry hands. Also, if your boots leak, a pair of plastic carrier bags keep feet dry as well.
Just catching up on your latest adventures, as I look out the window at the weather. Now I’m sitting here thinking if Charlie can do it…….. while looking at my gore-tex supposedly waterproof gloves….
Impressive as ever Charlie 👏
Welcome to Wales. I live just up the road from Abergavenny. Apart from the 3 weeks of sunshine end of May, beginning of June, when it was too hot to ride the bike, I think it has rained pretty much every single day. I only escaped it by going to Scotland, stayed dry to Moffat and then it rained every day again! It was only dry in England. Gloves? The thicker they are, the more water they absorb. I just wear leather ones and keep the sleeves over them, that way the water doesn't run down the sleeves and into the gloves, and no rain being wicked back up the sleeves either.
This is so amazing, the Epic Vistas are jaw dropping, thank you for the amazing footage!!
Surprised about Richa..i have their gloves, a summer and winter pair, and had no problem at all with either🤷🏻♂️. Use their suits too all fine. Great vids though 👍
Fab video. I’m inspired. Now i’m really looking forward to riding out into the Welsh hills when I take delivery of a Meteor next month. I’m just over the border in Gloucestershire, so, I reckon I’ll be doing that often.
Thanks for the great scenery…
What lovely country and roads for riding. On my list and someday will fly across the pond to give it a try before I get to old. 🍺
So ‘Roger’ is bent???😳
At 20:39 / 29:06 there's a great pull in/layby with even better views. Great vid, many thanks. TommyV
Llyn Clywedog? or Llyn Vyrnwy?
Was that the Rugby ground camp at Llandovery?
Having seen your video I did a loop from Cardiff today on my 125, taking in that Gospel Pass section between Crucorny and Hay as it's 'local' to me. Loads of fun, but there are sections of that lane that have seriously fallen off the council's maintenance plan… It's where big mummy and daddy potholes go to breed and party, with mounds of mud and rivers of water, gravel and stray rocks running down the road! 🙂 I was wishing for knobblies and longer suspension. But, it was worth it for the views from the top (sun shone for me!) and there are several good coffee shops in H-on-W. Thanks for the idea.
and the gospel pass is in the black mountains but it is a nice road on times
Waterproof overgloves. Pack small enough that I keep them in my jacket arm pocket. I love my 3 season gloves too much to switch to proper weather proof ones. Have tyhermal liners if it gets too cold.
