I finished the bullmoose bar project on my Long Haul Trucker. I appreciate the help I received from a few of you on the sub. I’m really happy with how it came out. I was slightly worried about the fixed stem, but the reach is perfect for a comfy upright position. The sweep and width feel fantastic.
I kept the canti brakes from the previous build just because I love the look. The brake levers can switch between long and short pull if I decide to upgrade to V-brakes down the road, which I very well might.
I elected to go with a hybrid shifting solution using the OEM Shimano barcons. The rear mech is on a Paul’s thumbie. But I figured I’d save a little money and put the front mech on the downtube since the LHT actually has a braze-on for it. Kind of reminds me of the suicide shifter on those WW2 Harley Davidson Army motorcycles. Plus, I’m digging the clean cockpit of a 1x with the gear range of a 3x.
