Happy Sunday my friends! I’m going to France this summer touring 2 weeks- I’m packing ultra ultra light, but I’m struggling with trying to figure out weight distro- I don’t want front panniers – I have a good sized handlebar bag, a frame diamond pack, and was thinking of a front top rack to hold about 4lbs. What are your thoughts on the front top rack idea?

When you say you have a “good sized handlebar bag”, do you mean a touring handlebar bag like the Ortlieb Ultimate, or a bikepacking handlebar roll like the Ortlieb Handlebar Pack? If you have only an old-school handlebar bag, then for carrying that small weight, you could get a handlebar roll and avoid the front rack completely.
