If the rider hit these hikers then they’d also hit a crashed rider. Or a bear. Or a fallen tree. Or another rider stopped to fix a flat.

Just because a trail is ‘bike only’ doesn’t mean there will be no surprise obstacles on it.

The rider is an idiot. They should’ve hit the brakes.

  2. $30 solution to this issue. Much cheaper than a busted bike and doctor bills. You can’t prevent stupid people from doing stupid things, but you can let them know you’re coming… https://mtbbell.com/

The rider had plenty of time to stop, but chose to maintaine speed and go around off trail where they lost it.

  4. Still not understanding how goin a foot off trail caused him to crash, other than being a poor rider going too fast for his pay grade.

Had to set my buddies shoulder on the trail and limp down a mountain because of this.

Some idiots were hiking up a trail with two dogs. The trail was super rutted and there were a bunch of little step downs. On that rail, you are basically riding in a ravine. There is nowhere to go except down the trail. To your left and right there is a rock wall then poison oak. No way to ride it except down, and single file.

These ding dongs were hiking up it, and we came around a bend on a steep section and my buddy hit the brakes and went over the bars. The only reason I didn’t hit him coming from behind was because I heard him scream. It was a blind corner.

Friend dislocated his shoulder, and we were right at the top of the mountain. We watched a YouTube video about how to pop it back in, did so, and limped down to the car and went straight to the emergency room.

    Really shitty day.

  6. I love the trail runners with headphones on in the twisty windy single track during peak Midwest summer wearing a dark tshirt…

I’ve yet to be in this situation, but if I ever find myself having to bail or go through a hiker on a bike only trail…RIP hiker
