ETA: from the website, “It bolts to the Brompton’s rear brake nut where it butts against the seat pillar when the Brompton is folded, this prevents the rear wheel from moving down and unfolding the bike.”

Did your rear break caliper also fall out?

Mine also came loose over time, I had to tighten it again to get the bike to stick together in the folded state. That’s the stopper hitting the lower part of the seatpost to block the rear wheel from unfolding while the seat is down.
