I will give my excellent Specialized Allez Comp to my son so that we can ride together.
As a new bike for myself I am considering the Endurace 7 AL range. The lightest (8.46kg) model that i like comes with rim brakes.
Same frame with disk brakes weights almost a kg more.
I am also ok with upgrading the wheels in either model to keep the weight even lower.
Also I plan to keep the bike for many years.
Would you still buy a bike with rim brakes in or am i making a mistake?

Disc , hands down .
Disc mate.
Disc 100%
100% Disc, especially if you want to keep the bike for a long time.
Looks better, braking is better, clearance is much better (rim brake is max. 28mm vs. ~35mm for disc), and it’s easier to maintain.
Disc, since with the 35mm tire clearance an easy conversion to a light Gravel is possible.
Just got an AL7 disc with 12 speed 105 and it’s wonderful. I didn’t realise quite what I’d been missing with hydro discs but the braking performance is night and day to my old bianchi with rim brake campag on it.
Are you planning on riding in the rain? Do you plan to ride uphill and then descend? If yes, then go for disks. If no, wait a few days and ask yourself again. If again no, then you can consider the rim breaks.
I ride a 2021 RB Ultimate CF SL and while I have no issues with it and plan to keep it for as long as possible, wheel and bike manufacturers are slowly forcing RB to become obsolete. Go for disc just for the future proofing.
Disc. Do not buy a new rim brake bike in the year of our lord 2024
Discs, you can invest in good wheels knowing you aren’t destroying them ever so slightly each time you brake
