Myth solved, we can indeed get aluminum to oxidize two pieces into one! Considering the caps current condition, knowing it will be tossed, I’d just take my Dremel tool and a cutting wheel and cut it to shreds…it’ll come out. Its not for the faint of heart. Or, You could drill a hole in it and use a punch and mallet to tap it loose. But that may not break it free either. Doesn’t matter, you’re going to destroy the cap getting it out. Its time to release your destructive inner self!
Drill 2 holes opposite each other that will fit the tool that removes it. It shouldn’t be on very tight.

If you didn’t know already, the cap is reverse threaded. The usual problem with these is that they fall off by themselves and get lost. Good luck with the extraction.
