Its better to keep it on because if you have to stop and its not your right foot in front youre gonna be in a funny situation

Edit: and also i would recommend practising skids with your left foot forward too

  2. I would suggest getting comfortable getting your foot in the strap offf the go – practice until you can do it without looking. I’ve ridden would straps for as long as i’ve been riding (about 12 years) – there’s never a point in riding fixed where you want the bike to be disconnected from you unless you’re bailing – but even then – straps will prevent you from becoming a projectile.

  3. The straps are not just for skidding. You use your foot retention when accelerating and when slowing down. Use both & ride more.

  4. Well you can if you aren’t ambidextrous in skidding and skid-hopping. And if you don’t care that one strap on a bike looks wack AF.

  5. Straps are used for far more than just skidding. You’ll do yourself a massive disservice by only riding with one strap. You’ll lose a ton of bike control and power. Don’t do it.
