So welcome back to the uh Channel everyone uh today we are at and about in stevenage and uh we’re going to take a look at Vincent and gbin uh as you can see me I just zoom in on their on their sign yeah and uh Vincent and gbin are
Located in Sterling Court Norton Road and sg1 uh post code now it’s a maintenance uh Road in the street state is open now looking at the um website I’ll give you a bit of a background of the company in 1946 Steven H was designed as a new town and the
Development Corporation at the time was led by architect and panners Ned Vincent and Ray gbin responsible the first pedestrianized town center now unique cycle uh network uh and local neighborhood centers and residential areas uh they are key to the success of of the establishment of the town in the heart of Aria in
1962 uh there was a fear that the government was going to disband the Development Corporation and this led Vincent and gorbin establishing their own practice The Firm began to undertake private planning and Architectural work throughout the southeast while continuing to work as consultants to the Development Corporation until it was wound up in
1980 by the time of the recession hit in the early ‘ 80s Vincent and Gordon had grown to around employees and had offices in both stevenage and London a decision was made to limit the practice to its home in stevenage since then the firm has continued to expand the work
Undertaken retaining the core staff to deliver its diverse architectural and town planning uh services and I’ll stitching in a photo of Vincent and gby now the two current directors are Mark Chandler who’s an architect and Jen Grant who’s the finance director and the balance sheet shows that in a good
Financial position and on average they have 21 employees they have an impressive uh impressive Client List uh and they also involved in the wine society’s Warehouse 5 and uh we’ll be showing that in uh in an upcoming uh video so let’s have a look at Vincent
And gbin uh shall we um The Rains it’s not raining at the moment so I might be able to get a drone uh flight in but this other quick look around so so Sterling House so definitely it’s going to be a very long video uh this one
So so I’m do some new tripod guys so you have to bear with me I’m fairly uh new to using a tripod the idea of it is is that I can get you some better better class of photos cuz my hand does shake when I use this uh zoom
Camera so that’s the uh that’s the building so you got reception area just There and you got offices at the top just moving the position so as you can see the chared Architects and town uh planners so so no one’s come out so they probably haven’t uh haven’t seen me to be fair you can’t see through the windows on the downstairs but you
Can probably see out so let’s go over this side and zoom in so as what you can see you can see screens uh then I just zoom in so I doubt if you can make them out no it’s just reflects in on here but there are screens but you can’t
Make out what they uh what they are so I won’t say that’s a gdpr issues cuz they are sort of blacked out but yeah that’s uh that’s this uh company so architects in town planners what it’s going to get uh Beverly out and uh it’s not raining at the
Moment so just got to find somewhere that I can fly the uh the G safely one I’ve got trees above Me here be so let’s get let’s get Beverly up restriction zones at the moment which is good I’m not this CTR anything like that so it’s all safe to safe to fly oh yeah wind there it down a bit Tre back so f sry not yeah not L to on
Okay that’s not a lot to uh see on uh on that uh video but I thought I’d uh just uh do this one cuz they uh you know Vincent and gbin are kind of responsible or not responsible but they actually designed uh stevenage Town sensors thought while I’ve been stevenage
Thought just uh just check them out uh not sure if they’ve noticed me or not but they’ve if they have they’ve left me alone and they’ve respected the rights of a of a photographer so if you like that short uh video guys please give it a thumbs up please give it a
Like please give it a share and uh as always have a fantastic day and I’ll see you on the next video bye for now

Great selection with interesting & detailed history of the town planning. The development in the 50s and 60s good example how communities redeveloped in the post war era. The town has most assuredly grown over the years.
Great video. 👍⭐⭐⭐
Between Norton Green Road and Six Hills Road, used to be the Express Dairy Depot. Unsure when it ceased operation, most of the current business were constructed mid 90s or later. 1963 phot showed a long narrow Express Dairy garage, The Wine Society was grass and some industry along the railway near Vincent and Gorbing.
Also Six Hills Court was Logicom in 2001-2004 and a1996 drawing plan for the neighboring business noted it as Imp(?) House, photocopy cut off but may be Imperial House and date to the mid 90s as well.
