Crimewatch Live looks at how police were able to catch a rapist who had attacked a teenager in Gloucester more than 30 years ago.

#MURDERDOCUMENTARYENGLAND #MURDERDOCUMENTARYUK #MURDERDOCUMENTARYUK2024

Good morning and welcome to the last of this week’s programs today a mother needs to know who attacked a son and left him for dead on the streets of Leicester there was people walking on the other side of the road nobody did anything you sit and you hold people’s

Hand when they’re Ding and he didn’t even have that did you see anything that night that could help police welcome to Crime what [Applause] Live hello and thanks for being with us this last week we’ve had an incredible response to the appeals and all the information we’ve been given has gone straight through to the investigating officers on Wednesday we met Jill and Hannah from love Grace they collect Handbags and fill them with Essentials

For women escaping domestic abuse situations well yesterday Jill received 89 new deliveries for their campaign all thanks to our viewers so thank you so much for that to find out more about the work GL Grace do you can watch that interview it’ll be available on I player

For another five days or you can check out their website below this morning we’re talking to the Met police about a murder appeal after a gruesome Discovery was made in a fridge freezer we’ll hear how police finally caught a rapist that we featured on our program at 16 years

Ago I’m going to be arresting you this evening on suspicion of rape okay no no and we’re with a pair of crime fighting Partners one of them just so happens to have four legs instead of two she’s so cute all of the officers from today’s appeals are with us throughout the

Scoffield and left a devastated Family behind there was people walking on the other side of the road you know nobody did anything you sit and you hold people’s hand when they dying and he didn’t even have That Matt was very sociable he was a hard worker he liked to party and he chat with anyone he was a character he was sensitive he was kind and he just had this smile and just this kindness that everybody loved his life changed when he had his

Son Matthew loved being a dad some of his favorite times were being on the par with his son feeding the Ducks going to soft play he just couldn’t believe that he’d got a son of his own and he just absolutely adored him on Saturday the 10th of June 2023 34-year-old Matthew scoffield was

Having drinks at a friend’s house in Leicester it continued into the early hours at about quter to 2 CCTV shows Matthew cycling along to a local shop where he purchased some alcohol he puts into a bag and then he Cycles away from the shop about 6 minutes later police

Body-worn footage shows Matthew with his bike speaking to police officers who are helping someone he’s cheerful he’s chatty he’s talking to the member of the public trying to help him but eventually Matthew’s asked just to leave the offices alone Matthew returned to his friend’s house for an hour until at around 3:00

A.m. he set off with two friends to get some food they were captured on CCTV heading towards a car park there were six or seven cars parked in the car park so as Matthew and his friends approach some people get out of the cars and his two friends leave very

Quickly leaving Matthew alone with a group of men we know that the Matthew was assaulted it falls to the floor as soon as Matthew’s assorted the group leave either on foot or in their cars Matthew was left lying on the floor face down he stayed that way for 90 minutes only

Then did someone come to his Aid a member of the public who was driving by um sees Matthew and then approaches two police officers Nearby my poor daughter Bang she said he’s gone mom and I just was screaming that it’s so many different emotions there’s the numbness there’s the just complete loss it was the worst feeling ever he was on his own and that nobody was with him you know I’m a nurse you

Sit and you hold people’s hand when they’re dying and he didn’t even have that and I don’t think I’ll ever get over that there was people walking on the other side of the road you know nobody did anything if somebody had called the ambulance or put Matthew in a recovery

Position Matthew would be alive today to establish what happened that night police spoke to Witnesses and recovered CCTV of the area initial plans were to identify the individuals involved in the tication and their movement away from the scene the CCTV helped police track a number of suspects through the vehicles

That left the area this led to police arresting seven men on suspicion of murder they remain on police bail the two friends Matthew was with that night were also arrested but released after it was quickly established they were not involved there was no motive to this

Killing that we can see they had no connections to this group it seems very senseless we need to understand what happened to Matthew on the 11th of June and it’s really important for us to understand that not just for the investigation but for Matthew’s family it’s been 7 months and I just I

Just miss him so much it never gets any easier you just feel Norm the the biggest thing is is just the Despair and like and thing oh my God I’m never ever going to see him again and I don’t know whether that will ever sink in cuz I don’t even feel like

I’m I’ve grieved properly cuz I’m too angry and I just want to I just want to get him just Justice I just want one person just to say what happened that night I will never ever stop till I know what happens with Matthew never Matthew’s little boy misses him so

Much and I know that with his inquisitive mind he will he will want to know and he deserves to Know this really is a tragic case well di markk Parish from leerer police is joining me now online Mark thanks so much for for being with us this morning just listening to Matthew’s mom Emma in the film there she’s absolutely distraught and is finding it very hard

To come to terms with what’s happened to her son how’s she doing yeah thank you very much uh Emma just wants to understand what happened to Matthew on that night in question and those answers will certainly help us in our recation absolutely now we know something happened near that car park don’t we

Mark What’s the hypothesis that you and the team are working on we’re working on the basis that where Matthew left the flat of his two friends he they came across a group of males in the park in that car Park area um his two friends left very quickly afterwards

We’ve identified an assault took place there and fell to the ground it’s not clear who assaulted Matthew and as we have heard in the film perhaps the saddest part of all of this is that if Matthew had been put in the recovery position he might still be alive

Today yes absolutely um if Matthew had been put in the recovery position or if um the amet service been called or first a treatment given he would still be alive today just so tragic as as we said now you managed to trace some of the individuals who were at the scene when

The altercation took place what more can you tell us about them yes so we have arrested a number of individuals uh they’re currently on police bail we’ve still got a number more to trace um but we’re hoping that within that group that Matthew came across there would be people that

Weren’t on camera or people in cars that may have seen what happened to Matthew and we’re just urging them to come forward um with some information for us to help Matthew’s family understand what happened and to help us progress our investigation yeah we can take a close a

Look now can’t we Mark of the CCTV footage this was where he was last picked up on CCTV cameras um just talk us through what we can see here so this is just before 3 o’cl on the 11th of June in the morning of 11th of June

Matthew’s leaving his flat with with his two friends you can see Matthew in the middle they are walking in the direction of the car park at that point where Matthew is assaulted and dies and should we just focus in a little bit more detail on on where this all happened

We’ve got a map that we can show just to illustrate this in a bit more detail haven’t we yeah so Matthew died in a car park that’s located just off the B Grave Road in Leicester this is one of the main routes into the city center uh and you

Can see uh the location marked at the bottom of the map where Matthew died and the flat is where he walks from listening to Matthew’s mom in the film there mark finding it very difficult to grieve um she just wants some aners she’s had no justice for viewers that

Are watching this morning how can they help what information do you want today well we know that um there were people walking around there were cars traveling along that b Brave Road we’re just urging anybody with a dash footage or anybody that can provide us with information that was in the group or

From the community to come forward uh all the information is important for us we really do need to help him understand and for us to progress our investigation want to hear from you absolutely Mark thanks so much for joining us this morning we really appreciate it so if

You do have any information at all as Mark said that could be helpful to the police no matter how small that information is please do pick up the phone our number is 84689 or you can use any of the other contact details there on the screen throughout the program just down by the

Clock still to come this morning we’ll be hearing how ex addict Cullen Mae is on a mission to save lives Liv through a drug that can rapidly reverse opioid overdoses but I didn’t know who to turn to I didn’t know what services to access that’s why I’m out here trying to promote

Change before that it’s a cold case that made the news headlines a few years back after the body of a man called Roy big was found in a disused pub earlier I spoke to DCI Kelly Allen who is investigating the case and I began by asking her where the body was

Found so in October 2021 uh Roy’s body was found in a freezer of a disused pub in Forest Gate called Simpson’s Wine Bar he was found wrapped up in blue TR tarping and found in that Freezer by workmen who were there to clear out the pub and what have you managed to find

Out about the man that was inside yeah so we know Roy he was 70 he uh was quite vulnerable he had limited family he had a social worker he’d been reported missing in 2012 we know that he worked at simpsons’s wine bar when it was still

Functioning and he was kind of an ad hoc security guard and what so far have you been able to piece together about what actually happened to him yeah it’s been really challenging because the passage of time that’s passed we know that he had rib injuries when uh he’s been

Examined but we haven’t been able to fully identify what has what actually killed him okay and at this point you believe he he may have even been stored in that freezer for up to nearly 10 years yeah I believe that that’s you know strong possibility that he was

Killed and then placed uh into the freezer in the basement of that Pub okay so what has happened since you last came on crime watch and appealed for this case yeah through crime watch we were able to identify some extended family members of Roy who were able to give us

Some background information and we’ve been able to identify that he used to frequent the local pubs in the area and that he would have been fairly well known around that area he was living in Donald Road and he was certainly known to some neighbors around there about Roy

Following crime watch we’ve arrested one person and we’ve interviewed another under caution but we’re still really looking for people who can tell us what was happening to Roy in the weeks and months leading up to his death and it could be absolutely crucial information that people are withholding at this

Stage if anyone needed that further incentive to come forward what would you say to them yeah we absolutely need people to come forward there is a 20,000 serious case reward leading uh for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the offenders and we urge people to come forward key thank you so

Think back were you in the forest gate area of London during 2012 did you live on Donald Road in 2012 or maybe you were even a neighbor of Roy or did you go to the wine bar where Roy worked if you know anything at all do get in touch the

Contact details are on your screens now recent statistics suggest that one in every 10 women and one in every 20 men believe they’ve had their drinks biked before it’s an alarming Trend that despite huge amounts of awareness and publicity still seems to be on the rise well we headed to Cardiff

City Center to ask about your experiences of spiking I was in a nightclub on a night out um and it was me and my friend out of a group of people um who were spiked someone despite my partner’s drink I took a drink of it and while I don’tk

All and I wasn’t in a very good state after it I had to be sent to the hospital and I was quite um out of it they gave me IVs and stuff but they looked at the camera at camera footage and said I have been spiked I went to a

Party and um they put mdme in my drink and um I didn’t know what like I didn’t know what was going on when I’m out and about I try and keep my eyes peeled I don’t really kind of get lost in the night anymore I think you just have to

Kind of stay aware I feel like sometimes when there’s like been a big incident um awareness is like heightened and then it kind of DS down a bit but it should always be something that is encouraged to look out for if we want to decrease the risk of spiking I think everybody’s

Got to be more aware I think you’ve got to be protective of your friends of yourself and I think if you see any kind of suspicious Behavior You’ got to just let somebody know well it’s surprising just how many people have had firsthand experience of this and I’m now with Dawn dyes from

Stamp Out spiking thanks for talking to us this morning dawn so what type of spiking should people be aware of well there’s a variety of spiking issues that are hitting across our communities there’s drink spiking and an alcoholic and a non-alcoholic drink there’s spiking of Vapes food and a few

Years ago we had the injection spiking incidents as well so a number of different ways but one of the things that surprises me the most onor has to be that the amount of people that report this to police or rather the amount that don’t because you’ve got some statistics on

This yeah it’s really frightening a couple of years ago before this became a bit of a you know really hit the media we done a national survey and over 97% of victims didn’t actually report getting spiked to the police so when we delved into that we found out that

People were ashamed they were embarrassed and actually some people did come forward and they were accused of actually drinking too much yeah it’s horrible to hear people feel like that and they absolutely shouldn’t do but let’s talk about something positive Don something I know you’re very excited

About because there is a change in the law coming something you’ve been passionate about for many many years tell us more I have I’m so excited about this so after campaigning for like two decades now the law is going to be updated it’s going through Parliament as we speak and the they’re quite

Antiquated laws of like 1861 so what that’s going to mean to us is that spiking will now be recognized in law it will be zero tolerance and it actually also means really importantly is that there’s going to be some mandatory training so the security industry Authority all of the guest

Security officers who look after us every weekend they’re going to have to know the typical signs and symptoms of spiking so that we’ve got an immediate call to action so that we can Safeguard as many men and women as we can across the country well well done on that Dawn

I know as I say you’ve been working on this for a long long time but you just touched on it there in Practical terms then that means that lots more people are going to be trained to to know what to look out for to keep everyone safe definitely and you know we’ve had

Quite a few independent bars and and even some restaurants as well that have actually taken our training which is brilliant we’ve got accredited training we’re working with the skills and education group and once this training you know soon as it goes out and gets across all our communities we’re going

To have a much better chance of stopping people because they’re going to know what people look like like and what they act like so we can actually intervene to stop the perpetrators from taking people away when they’ve been spiked that could be so so important Dawn so what sort of

Signs are there or are there any [ __ ] signs if someone has been spiked anything that we could look out for perhaps if we’re with a friend or family member that we’re worried about definitely and everybody for all your viewers you know if you become if your eyes get really your eyesight gets

Really blurred and you start to feel really drunk really quickly and you feel like you’re sort of having an outof body experience you need to get to a member of Staff or you need to get to a security officer or a friend really quickly because these date rape drugs

They once they take effect they leave you compliant you can’t put up a fight and the worst thing is you’re left with no memory so for any of your viewers out there if they have been affected by any spiking related issues if they could please go on to our website because

We’re doing another National survey the victim’s journey and then we we’ll have that evidence to go back to the government to find out exactly where along that Journey we’re letting victims down well said da and just before I let you go dawn if anyone’s watching this

Thinking well it’s only a bit of fun isn’t it I know you got some strong words to say to them I really do you know but what we’re seeing on our streets is that people are being chemists they’re going out and you know we use the word spiking they’re

Actually poisoning people so if you’re thinking that this is a joke you know people actually they wet themselves they’re violently sick they go in and out of Consciousness this is no joke and it really needs to be taken seriously we need people to be calling others out

Because people surely have got to know other people that are doing these crimes well said Dawn it’s certainly not a joking matter in any way shape or form thank you for joining us now how a DNA sample and some painstaking detective work finally put a rapist Behind Bars more than 30 years

After the attack just to warn you this film does contain some upsetting Scenes there were lots of people and people cycling up and down the cycle path I remember seeing a mother there with her children and a group of teenagers so yeah it was it was quite busy On Sunday 29th of April 1990 an 18-year-old woman was walking her dog along a footpath in chelham known as the honey born line he had a weapon on him it was um quite a thick sharpened stick with a nail in it looked very threatening I just didn’t know what was going to

Happen I didn’t know what he was going to do to me but I feared for my life and then he proceeded to rape me I just felt worthless at the time and it just left me feeling really sorted and dirty I just wish I could turn back the clock

And I know deep down that I was just in the wrong place at the wrong time it’s just going to haunt me for the rest of my life it was such a rare offense to have a rape of this nature happen in broad daylight in a town center police launched a huge

Investigation they took DNA samples from the crime scene and witnessed Witnesses were able to give a detailed description of the attacker the victim described him as being in his early 30s dark hair slightly overweight the stick was a unique feature which bound all the witnesses together without that stick it would

Have been difficult to say that the person seen by witness a was the same as the person seen by witness B the pointed stick helped us identify that this person was one and the same there was a huge amount of press appeal around it and a number of eits uh were

Put in the local paper but without any success 12 years later however in 2002 the victim thought she saw the offender in a local car park she recorded their registration number and contacted the police the person seen in the carpart their DNA was taken and is established that it wasn’t the

Offender the man was ruled out but following significant advances in forensic science detectives reexamined the attacker’s DNA sample found at the crime scene we decided to undertake a familial DNA profile that will indicate that the person is a either a sibling a parent or a child of the

Offender on the National Database there are millions of profiles and we will look for the top 250 looking for people who have family traits that are similar to our suspect despite extensive searches for familial matches the police got no hits thinking the suspects May have fled abroad they shared the DNA profile with

International police forces and in 2008 turned to crime watch now here’s a question for you what time type of person is it who goes to a busy Park in broad daylight armed with a homemade Spear and rapes a young girl out of crime watch we did have a number

Of useful leads and this resulted Us in taking uh swabs from about 25 potential offenders again no luck it was hugely frustrating because you know at the bottom of your heart that the the answer is out there for years detectives still hoped for a breakthrough in April 2021 detective

Inspector Adam Stacy was head of gleria constabularies rape and serious sexual offense team people talked about this case ever since I I’d come to the force um as an unsolved case it was it was a hideous hideous incident and therefore you know stuck in people’s

Memories out of the blue di Stacy got an email a man had been arrested in Cumbria for being in possession of a knife his DNA sample matched another on the National Database the one taken by detectives in chelham in 1990 to get this email this this news is

Amazing bit of evidence that you know as soon as we got it we knew we had our man and we’re going to be able to finally after 31 years prosecute him um put him behind bars where he belongs and um get Justice for the victim was just incredible and we finally had a

Name Paul Shakespeare Paul Shakespeare lived in chelham at the time we we know that so he was local to the offense hello on the 15th of August 2021 the investigation team went up to carile and Cumbria to arrest Shakespeare they were horrified by his reaction I’m going to be arresting you this

Evening on suspicion of rape okay now no now listen um you have been linked uh via forensic evidence to the rape of a female which took place in chham on Sunday the 29th of April 1990 when I saw the bodyw warn footage of the arrest you see the man who was

Responsible for this hideous offense for him to be quite Blas about it understand what I’ve said so far that was quite cold and and and quite chilling he pleaded guilty he got sentenced to 9 years in prison when we spoke to the victim her words to effect

Of I knew this day was going to come you know she she’ not not lost hope all through that time we were going to find him so she’s born this this weight this the impact of the offense for 31 years not knowing uh who this man is knowing that this man is out

There I’m just hopeful that with Shakespeare now behind bars that this will help her put it behind Her great result there now we all love a good cop Duo remember Kagney and Lacy or morson Lewis well our next guests are celebrating their first year as crime fight in Partners themselves we’ve got police officer Sam Clark from Northampton sh police along with police dog Rosie morning to you both morning um

Sam tell me a little bit about Rosie so pety Rosie she’s a four-year-old [ __ ] spanel we’ve been part for 15 months and she’s Northampton Sher police’s Digi dog so what exactly is a a Digi dog then it’s quite extraordinary what they’re able to do so she’s our digital evidence

Detection dog which is quite wordy so we’ve shortened it down to digi dog what that means is she can search for electronic devices which contain memory and storage and that could be anything from a mobile phone laptop down to a dash cam satinav or a USB or something as small as a SIM

Card it’s amazing that isn’t it because as you say some of these devices are so incredibly small and Rosie’s trained to actually sliff them out so everything that she searches for is legal to own it’s either the content that’s within that device which is illegal or it contains evidence in relation to an

Investigation so in a number of offenses like drug dealing or fraud that could be crucial information even though it’s legal to own crucial information that we might miss but Rosie could find yeah so she’s using her nose to find these items so as a human it’s can be can be quite challenging

Sometimes to find some of these items but obviously she’s got an amazing sense of smell and yeah she’s she’s had some fantastic results since she’s been with me well what kind of cases have you worked on then recently so in um January 2023 we assisted C in a serious sexual

Offense involving a minor uh during that investigation we were asked to search the suspect’s bedroom now this suspect shouldn’t have had any undisclosed devices during that search she searched the bed and within that bed she found two mobile phones that had been concealed she um she’s amazing absolutely amazing finding both of those

Items that was brilliant so just by getting those items that was part of this huge investigation and did that help with the the conviction yeah so she um based on that evidence alone she was charged the uh the suspect was charged remanded for court and then involv in

The whole investigation he pled guilty in court and received a custodial sentence of 14 years what a fantastic result great find yeah you know what I’m loving Sam Ros is actually watching herself on the TV she’s she literally hasn’t stopped looking at herself it’s hilarious now you’ve been a dog handler

For years haven’t you but is this the first Digi dog that you’ve actually worked with yeah so she’s the first Digi dog that I’ve worked with um we’ve done 70 jobs now within Northampton share 70 already 70 already in 15 months um that can be anything from an open

Search a vehicle search route search or building search we’ve also done Mutual Aid to Nottingham and to suffer so she’s an incredible asset to Northampton share police and she’s found crucial evidence in relation to investigations quite done that she’s just she’s at home on TV as

Well isn’t she and just very quickly if you do have a bit of time when you’re not working other than stealing the red dragon our studio what else did she like to do so it’s really important that the dogs get to switch off when they’re at

Home so she gets to play with my pet dogs I’ve got a retired police dog as well so she gets to inter interact and engage with them um she also gets swimming dates in the swimming pool so she gets to swim and uh Dive In The Deep

End of a nice heated swimming pool good for her well she’s an absolute asset to police she really is thank you so much for coming in today thank you uh we’ve got a really inspirational story coming up next uh the name is Colin have a watch what happening Lee what’s going on you

Okay how are you haven’t seen you in a while my name is Colin mace I wa for a great charry called Kaleidoscope they’re in every area across Wales prescribing people with drug addictions for substitutes like heroin cutex and other medical interventions I definitely feel very passionate about it because I’ve

Lost very close friends due to overdose and drug addiction from a young age I do remember that I used to be very worried very scared these anxious thoughts of myself or uh loved ones of mine being hurt basically a fear of losing them and I developed this this mechanism where I would do

These rituals on a day-to-day basis to reverse that a severe OCD and I found that that the smoking cannabis kind of almost eradicated it totally and it got to a stage where I abused it it ended up being something that made me paranoid so I started looking for other drugs

Started hanging around with the wrong people and from that moment on I became a heroin addict I was on the streets for for periods of time and I collapsed one night and uh couldn’t breathe was just in a pile of sweat I was soaking wet and

I woke up a day or two after in hospital with all these drips on me and they said that I had platic pneumonia so when I was in that hospital I really genuinely thought this was my time gone and I didn’t want to die and I prayed to some

Sort of higher power saying please let me get through this and I I promise I will never take drugs again and that was my spark that was that was my time that I knew you know I’m done with this life it was difficult to get off heroin to

Get off all drugs but I I pulled through and some of the key things to me for getting clean and being here now was being given an opportunity by organizations like Kaleidoscope they have given me the opportunity to another chance at life K is a charity that provides Drug and

Alcohol Services we probably treat in a year about 10,000 different people so it’s really about trying to go how do we avoid drug rated deaths can we use the people who use our services to to to help you lock I’ve seen you as

A a thing on you and I want you to make sure you’re safe after yeah I am now three and a half years clean off all drugs and I’ve been an employee of Kaleidoscope for 3 years we don’t want people to take drugs but it is better

That they keep as safe as they can so if you can provide them with a clean needle and a clean syringe then the chances of getting blood Bor viruses are greatly reduced which obviously impact on the wider community and if you get them a substitute it means they’re not always

Desperately going out to try and score heroin which puts them in the criminal justice system in order to fund their habit so really the primary aim of Kate is to try and reduce harm and the second is where we can is try and work with someone to bring about lasting change so

It might be for example giving people support to get employment to to open it right like you know like a Chinese Burn yeah three twists yeah like that yeah we’re trying to reduce infections we’re trying to reduce overdoses and save lives I think it’s super super important to do that I

Got I got Nick zo and the lock Zone which one do you want you hear people say I let them die the jokies let him die how sick and sad is that for people to say that we’re all human beings at the end of the day and I think we’ve got

To be more caring of that we’re too quick to judge this can happen to anyone even if that person goes out and uses again and overdoses again I’m still going to be there to save that guy well you know where we are Church Monday Friday come for a drop in have something

To eat yeah you know that all right it’s good to see you aren’t you m look after yourself all right it was many times at 4 in the morning that I was like right I want to change my life but I didn’t know who to turn to I didn’t know what

Services to access we want you to have them all to keep you safe take care right tell M that’s why I’m out here trying to promote change there’s other people who are exactly like me and I know that they can be saved as well just amazing well I’m delighted to

Say that Colin joins us in the studio this morning welcome to the program it is really great to have you with us that is such a powerful film and we saw you on the streets there talking to people giving them what’s called the lock Zone

Isn’t it tell us more about it yeah so it’s something it’s a lifesaver basically um what it does is reverses the overdose uh by taking the opioid receptors it just you know basically wipes them off and saves a life and it takes about 2 to 5 minutes to kick in is

That right takes about 2 to 5 minutes um last for about 40 minutes the the whole purpose of it is to reverse the overdose um hopefully before the you know for when the ambulance comes so important so how did you go about administering it then how do you use them so we’ve got

Two different ways we’ve got the the classic yellow box that everyone knows um which is into the muscle with a syringe right um we have five doses with this as well that you can give but it’s only to one person so when you’ve used it just wait for the ambulance to come

Give it to them and come back to your local charity to get get another one right you do have to be trained up in it takes two two minutes to train someone up to be able to administer the lock Zone and you’ve got information on your website actually about the training

Haven’t you yes yes all on the website and um obviously we have the peers who go out and administer the lockone as well they have to be trained I think they do like a day’s training and then they have to Shadow for a couple of

Hours but you know you could do that as well if you’re a and this is the nasal version as well which is quite popular with more professionals um The Wider public uh the police carry these ones and they’ve done a great job in saving a lot of lives with them honestly this is

This is revolutionary it’s been really successful hasn’t it it’s been tremendously successful sorry um I’ve saved three lives with the lock Zone um I get phone calls every week off um not just the peers who are saving lives but the City wardens the council who are carrying it shop owners this is the

Thing though local councils getting on board police forces shop owners I mean you’ve got stickers here that you’ve brought in so people will have these in shops just to show you can get in a lock Zone here yeah so this sticker was designed by um our lived experience peer

Group called voices action change we looked how the defibs are out on the public we wanted to do something for the lock zone so the shop owners who are carrying the lock zone now have this in their WI so if anyone who is not carrying the lock Zone see someone

Overdosed on the streets if you see a big yellow sticker in the window you know they’re carrying and we heard in the film Colin you’ve been three and a half years clean now you are doing incredible things what are your hopes goals for the for the future I’m I’m I’m

Just trying to better myself first and foremost and save as many lives as possible and raise awareness on recovery addiction you know showing that it’s never too late to not just change your life and and get into recovery but also be successful well you’re not just changing your life you’re saving other

People’s lives which is just remarkable so thank you so much for coming in today you’re doing incredible work and keep it up appreciate it RAV now it’s time for wanted faces and it’s a collection of some of those we’ve shown you earlier this week that still need to be

Found first have you seen Dean maize Po’s police want to speak with him in connection to an incident where a corrosive substance was thrown at someone he’s 37 with dark straight hair and a beard he has an accent that’s described as being from Southeast London or Kent he’s thought to have connections

  1. Why call those 2 men who where with Matthew his friends? They left him to get beaten up and did not even get help. That makes them anything but friends.

  2. I'm from🇺🇲 but watched some old crimewatch shows and some one in the comments said the SHOW was cancelled in 2017 don't understand

  3. There's no way the friends were not involved. Sounds like a setup. They ran? They could have called the police. They could have hide and go back to help him. Imagine he laid there for 90 minutes. They had time to come back for him.

  4. How the so-called friends can live with themselves is beyond me. Fear can be horrible I get it, but not even getting far enough away and then go back to Mathew makes them just cowards.
It's so true nothing good happens after midnight. That's when these parasites are hunting. So damn pointless.
    R.I.P. Matthew.

  5. The guy who says we're here for the junkies and bashes those who says "let him die" obviously is not working his ass off to pay the free drugs to keep addicts going

  6. 6:28 .. at this point, what kind of “friends” totally ditch you? To the point of not even doubling back to find out if you’re okay??
I can understand running away from a perceived threat.. but.. you don’t full blown ABANDON someone else.. not even just a random new acquaintance, if you do literally nothing else, call the police immediately when you’re running away..
jeeze!! With friends like THAT who needs enemies!
What a waste of a life..
as a mom with a son very much like that, my heart breaks for his mom.. it’s one of my worst fears..

  7. 29:07 great 2 see the monster get some prison time, hopefully hard time. Regarding the lady who suffered the offence, I don't really want 2 call her a victim, regards 2 her she is a strong, solid woman. I hope she has lived a good life and has prospered.
