Slowly, sports lover! Did you realise how fast you just raced through here? Don’t you know the traffic rules? Did you fail your bicycle license or what? Yes, sorry that I was too fast. I did actually fail my bike license! But that’s why I’m getting my bicycle license 2.0 during cycling week

And then I won’t ride so fast anymore! I’m Maik Bock. I am a research assistant at the Department of Cycling and Local Mobility at the University of Kassel and during the Bike-week we don’t only organise the project of the bicycle license! The whole thing takes

Place in up to 30 or even more small projects. And everyone can take part! From April 8th to 14th. There are a lot of activities that will be happening all over the city and that is really exciting. But our base is the Sdg+ Lab on Wilhelmstrasse.

We also target different target groups and are already active in the initial reception center for refugees in Rothwesten, because this project has existed since 2023 and is constantly growing. And yes, we are really grateful that so many people now want to take part and that we actually

Feel that the joy of cycling can bring a lot of people together! Yeah, hi, I’m Tom, I’m studying sports at the University of Kassel and through Cycassel and my sports studies I came to take care of a bicycle project in Rothwesten. This means that we are there in the initial reception center

For refugees and do sports with the children on the subject of cycling. You saw on the video that it was just a gag, but it’s actually the case that I failed my bicycle license in elementary school and that’s how this bicycle license 2.0 project came about.

Yes, my name is Bijan Otmischi. We want to go on a day tour and want to get neurodiverse people on bikes and explore places that they may not have been to for a long time. Or maybe we can make it up to Hercules.

I am Nivesh Dugar. I am from Nepal and my project is all about teaching internationals and international students about how to bicycle on the road of Germany. We are the BiciBus group. We want to establish the first bicycle bus here in Kassel. A

Bicycle bus is basically a group of students who ride safely to school together, accompanied by adults in the group. Above all, we need support. Of course through men-power, but of also we need financial resources to support the student projects, to support the projects that come from the citizens,

To be able to equip the projects. If you somehow have things or know people who know people who know people, then we need first aid kits, air pumps, bicycle tires, old discarded bicycles – everything you can think of related to cycling.

What if Kassel was not only the city of raccoons and had a world cultural heritage, but perhaps also was the bicycle city in Hesse or even one in Germany in 2030? How to support us: share our story visit the bicycle week help us by donating things or money Thanks!

Share.
