Took the headset out due to creaking , was a pain in the ass to get out and is a pain in the ass to get back in. Any advice on how to get the top bearings seated into the frame without damaging the head tube ? I’ve tired freezing it and tightening it down with the fork hoping it’ll push it down and it still couldn’t sit in it right. It feels as if I have to hit the bearing into the frame (which I don’t want to do) I’ve also tried new 1 1/8 bearing which didn’t work

Plank of wood and a rubber mallet but does the od match the old one?
