  2. Hard to tell from the picture but it looks like that crank she used to have a 3rd chainring that you took off. If that’s the case the chainring bolts are too long and you’ll need new ones for a single ring that are shorter. Hope that helps 👍

    Make sure you have the right size changing bolts. There’s 2 different bolt lengths used commonly. Your lbs would have plenty of these plus the right tools.

  4. Thanks everyone! This was a 3x chainring and i removed one,my chain broke and i have to get a new one,and i will order a 1x chainring too.

  5. once you see the special tool and its shape it would not be hard to make one yourself out of a screw driver

    Sometimes if you turn the key really fast you can surprise it and the nut will grip without holding it. Not kidding.
    Otherwise something that fits in the slots

  7. A flathead usually does the job. Just press down on the screwdriver when tightening and then tighten lol
