    That’s a tubeless rim, it just needs tubeless tape. It has a bead well and a locking bead shelf.

    Does it say anything on the side ? Usually tubeless rims have a lower rim sidewall.

  3. Despite what manufacturers tell you. You can use any rim and any tyre in a tubeless setup! Now there’s a caveat.. not all tyres and all wheel combos will seal, even ones that claim to be tubeless ready can have issues in some combinations!

    Tubeless tyres with folding rims are certainly easier to seat! but back in the day when tubeless what very uncommon, and tubeless ready wasn’t even a word, we used to use wire beaded tyres on our downhill bikes with latex sealant!

    The only combination of wheels and tyres that you should never run, is hookless rims with non tubeless tyres! Even if you run a tube!
