Im a complete noob when it comes to this idea and wanting to know more!!
I currently have a carbon fibre big 9 but there aren’t many attachment points on it for fitting gear so not sure if that’s the best bike for the job.
wanting to know what’s the best light weight gear to get.
Whats a good bike to get (cheap as possible)
How do yall go about cooking food??
And do you need money to do a trip on a bike or is that not really necessary??
And how have yall setup your bikes/backpacks
Cheers.

Glad that you are interested. Check out some YouTube videos is probably best way to learn. Also bikepacking.com has info, routes and videos. I’m more of a road bike tour guy, but my alloy hardtail worked great on a bike packing trip using my backpacking cook gear, tent, sleeping bag and such. Cost can be very low if you go someplace close by that you can ride or drive to. Finding ways to carry the bags on the bike varies a lot. Videos will be the best way to learn.
As mentioned by Xxmeow123 there’s some fantastic tools and information on [bikepacking.com](http://bikepacking.com), especially their “Bikepacking 101” page. I’m certain that’ll get you started out very well!
