Been having some tightness in my shoulders when riding. Does this mean I should get a shorter stem? Or is it any other fit related issue? Curious to see if anyone deals with the same issue
Where specifically:
– Outside shoulders on your arms?
– Top by your neck?
– Back between the shoulder blades?

Sometimes it could be due to your posture while cycling (at least that’s the case with me). I was so used to an upright cycling position so I was always trying to push myself up which caused the tightness in my shoulders. Relaxing my shoulders and bending my elbows helped with that significantly.

I’m no physio-cyclo-therapist but the angle of grips going inward makes me think your shoulder issue may stem from the hand grip angle. I’m riding some kind of a droped bullhorns and have an opposite angle on the horizontal part of my handlebars and it feels quite natural, letting my shoulders turn slightly outwards and open my chest a bit

Try out some bars with backsweep for a more upright posture

I’d recommend lowering your seat post a cm or two and flipping your handlebars so they’re angled down
