I recently attempted to upgrade my bike’s crank by installing an FSA Gossamer crank to replace the old square taper one. I’m using a standard 24mm hollowtech bottom bracket. However, as you can see in the photos I’ve posted, the crank spindle has a wider section near the chainrings, preventing it from fitting all the way in.
Am I missing something here, or is this bottom bracket not compatible with this crank? The spindle width matches at 24mm, except for the wider section near the end. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
