Yes, you should have grips on that.
I prefer to wrap tape all the way to the middle.
Keirin grips is the answer
Use sandpaper grips… ride through the pain!
I’ve got some origin8 extra long track grips ($15 at retrogression) on my widebois and I love em.

If u want more responsive and feel more vibrations yeah track grips but if h like soft Esi grips definitely
