I’ve decided I really wanted to try bike packing for the first time, and I’m doing it for a charity. I’m biking from Oslo to Copenhagen through Sweden as the ultimate scandi trip. I was looking for some tips on how I should prepare for this trip, in total 35 hours of biking, what to pack and if I should book hotels or sleep outside

Pack a sleeping bag or bivvy. Bring a sattelite communications device in case theres no cell service. I like wild camping personally, but its really your decision if you want to spend money or not. I say go for a campground, its cheaper. Have panniers and a first aid kit. You should also get the Cycliq Fly12 Sport. Good front facing bike dashcam just in case. Whats your budget? The cam is $500. I’d recommend not using Google maps, my current favorite for planning is mapy because you can download the maps offline for free and it knows the bike paths.
The route between Gothenburg and Malmø is very well signposted (Kattegatleden).
I did Malmo-Gothenburg two years ago and it was great! Definitely sleep outside, in Sweden you can pitch your tent almost anywhere.
I can recommend Kattegattleden (kattegattleden.se/en) from Gothenburg to Helsingborg where you can take the ferry to Helsingør. Its not the shortest possible route as it follows the coast, but I would say its definitely worth it. It could be a bit difficult if you are using a road bike since some sections are gravel. The route mostly follows bike paths or small roads and has signs for directions.
If you are cycling in summer I think bringing a tent is the way to go. As you might already know, Sweden has a right to roam law which allows you to wild camp. Keep in mind that the coast is full of nature reserves where its not always allowed to camp. When I did Kattegattleden I was always able to find somewhere to pitch my tent by going a few kilometers in land. I havent cycled in Bohuslän (north of Gothenburg), but I would use Komoot for navigation instead of Google maps.

Camp grounds are also an option, but I personally think they are a bit too expensive in Sweden.
