Welcome to the north of England welcome to Yorkshire will M gives your best fact about Yorkshire um so just around the corner you’ve got yorkminster which is a cathedral and it’s got Britain’s uh largest amount of staining glass on it so make sure on your time off
You why are we in the north England team rarely comes to the north rarely if ever one or two guys been here you trained in 2014 didn’t you train at West Park rby Club Elite is that where you’re trained right I’m sensing it might not we lost to leads
Met in a training game and they’ played the day before and we lost to them and they were on the the night before as well sake so we’re in the north cuz I was fundamentally bringing an England team to the north we don’t com very often and
We got a big fan base up here and um as part of that we’re going to run the Open session on on Friday that’s sold out within hours as soon as this thing went on sale 8,000 people tickets sold for this thing instantly because they’re
They’re hungry to um to see you guys I only ever went to one as a as a kid I only ever went to one England International as a as a fan who became a player and that was Old Trafford CU you just couldn’t get you just didn’t go to
TWI them you just don’t go down there from the north so the wayve come up here I think is a fabulous thing to do so the aim this week it’s the second fall week like I said is few different objectives really at this stage in the competition um and
This is my first expanation so you know I’m taking a lot of advice from guys like Tom tomble and Ethan the coaches the medical staff who’ve been here for a while but one of the main objectives is to realize where the players are what do they need do they need an element of
Freshness do they need need an element of work so we’ve tried to strike the balance going into the latter stages of the Six Nations to make sure that on Sunday afternoon when we get together and on Monday when we start our training week and preparations for Ireland is the
Players are physically in a great position mentally refreshed recharged and and and ready to go into what is going to be a massively challenging week for us uh gentlemen today we’re going to be on the wat bike the objective today you have got two tests two three minute
Test the objective of the test is to finish the 3 minutes with the highest average power possible I’m going to register what you get as your average power and then we’re going to repeat again gentlemen I would ask you for one thing now stop thinking too much about it skin Pedal routine that is fantastic keep your rhythm good CH Come on B you got this you got this let’s go let’s go stay stay stay stay one let’s go all the way Through well done now some going machine double I actually I actually don’t care cuz IAM the yeah being up in York’s been uh been good fun we had obviously had an afternoon off this afternoon so uh quite a few boys went out and found a few
Decent coffee spots and then a few of us headed to to yorkminster climbed up the climbed up to the tower which was which was nice few good views there probably a few too many steps with some of the boys St barely fell up the staircase so that
Was quite entertaining but it was it’s been a nice city to walk around to be fair and I think it’s quite nice that we can bring this up to the north and obviously we got the open training session tomorrow which should be good fun and I guess we can showcase off some
Some some training to to some fans who don’t necessarily get to to see that side of things for this week our aims are for a little bit of recovery obviously a little bit battered so it’s about getting the bodies moving again after a few days off but ultimately
Feeling as fresh as we can going to into the last two weeks of Six Nations but AIMS in terms of in terms of rugby focus is is definitely our attack um we felt like we just off it in that Scotland game we felt like we’re creating creating enough opportunities there’s
Enough opportunities out there we’re just we’re not executing well enough and and we want to get all align and and and really start hammering home that uh that attack side of thing so that we can uh we can come away with points when we’re creating those opportunities got deep and explored out
Mate that’s the while while the coaches of the responsibility really giving players Clarity and really dissect in what happened in the game I suppose my my responsibility or my role is to stay pretty consistent through the week so i’ like to think that I bring a bit of joy
And you know however I do that if that’s picking on certain players or doing doing whatever it is but as as as Fitness coaches as snc coaches typically Your Role is to not only train these guys and get them fit and get them fast and powerful and strong but also make
Make sure that they enjoy things that they’re smiling and that they’re energized all the time so yeah that that’s probably an important part to know compliment what the coaches are doing where that’s a lot of detail it’s it’s real clear Focus I just want to lighten the mood as well at at the
Appropriate times and inappropriate times lovely salmon quietly going about his business it it’s funny sometimes when when you win games and you you’re building momentum you kind of don’t want the fall week to maybe necessarily be at that time potentially after a loss A fallow week couldn’t come at the better
Time you know so how a few days to regroup it’s ideal and the other the other reason I suppose is when when the games are as demanding physically as they are emotionally you know going to Edinburgh is is is is a tough place to go you know the crowd were magnificently
Horrible to everyone um as we arrived there but as you as you’d imagine it would be so it takes a bit of time to to recover from that you know so the fallow week yeah it’s pretty important but also the main thing is is allowing us to get
A little head start now on what we need to get right for for Ireland yeah come on In fast from the bottom now lovely good left one Beautiful great depth today chander yes do want to give the work bike a rattle today lovely dumers lovely Charles Excellent Man lovely Al got fast up mate fast up beautiful Excellent Man beautiful fny what a camera around Coy does for a minute 20 kilos motor Gorgeous George look at him go great noises
Charlie that looks way more comfortable in the first week yeah just want shoulders up a little there just just lose your shoulders a little bit so set yourself up as high like like a table top bada bing bada bong a big man Great noises so dumbbells some more stable things here and then it’s going to be t on this leg and it’s everything is here for it is yeah pre- tension there and then it’s up and back down nothing at all of this leg keep it in the midline so you targ
It in there we are Target my hand Ben oano crowd favorite just quietly going about his work look at him go Al is a a very funny character I don’t know whether he’s constantly thinking of jokes or he’s just incredibly quick but uh he he always he always has something something funny to
Say um he sort of creates a creates an energy and and a good feeling around the boys which which is probably what he want from um from from HS and C uh side of thing so yeah he’s he’s obviously the first time I’ve worked with him the six
Nation so I I’d heard story stories about him from from pre-World cup camps and things like that from the boys and and saying how how much good fun he was uh and yeah he’s definitely he’s lived up to lived up to the hype from the boys I think freemo actually said after the
First week of meeting him that he’d take he’d be one of the three people on Camp who we take on a on a submarine with him so um yeah he obviously uh has a b big impact on people pretty quickly um so he’s yeah he’s good fun to have around
Has a lot of experience behind him and and knows what he’s doing and knows how to get the best out of boys bodies and feeling as fresh as possible whilst getting enough out of the training week then going into the weekend so yeah his his experience is massive obviously he’s
He’s there to sort of create an energy around the group as well and and Dy things in the gym and on the field but probably a lot of his work also goes on scene in terms of realizing or looking at data and and realizing what’s best
For the boys and and and managing boys um in in that way as well this is Christopher so the main reason why we’ve come to York is to train with Christopher so he’s going to be lifting today anything he want give up the r yeah your favorite player I like it no you Don’t okay okay I told her who else who do you hate the most of the I’m joking 3 2 1 it’s great to have another Open session tomorrow up up in the north here why why is it important it’s important to connect with with with supporters it’s important to connect with
Communities you know it’s been brilliant where we’ve been training now um at at the Sports Village that we’ve been in the gym where people are coming in and and getting to mix and getting to watch the Players and uh probably getting annoyed at the leaving all their weights
Out and uh that the some of the people aren’t getting to use what they normally would use at 10:00 in the morning in the gym but the Open Session though on on Friday it it is important and getting people to see what we do what we do on
The pitch probably get to appreciate how how hard training is how skillful the boys are and also getting a bit of time to mix with them afterwards you know I think you tooking them a couple of weeks ago they were boys were outs signing for about half an hour afterwards and it’s
Great to see what impact it has not only on children but on adults as well and particularly if you don’t normally get close to these guys and some maybe you’ve only just seen them on on television it it it’s it is it is great to connect and um yeah also it’s good to
Have a spin around the country for me on selfish note anyway hav’t been to York before so it’s been fabulous would you please welcome to the field [Applause] England Hi guys thank you very much for all your support here in York today uh it’s been amazing to bring the game up north again uh and yeah got us through that session so thank you go

I want a chef to take a this rose
I love these, I wish Ireland/Scotland/Wales did one as well. It's so very good.
More Daddy Borthwick, please.
As a "sock", I confess to being deeply, deeply conflicted about this weekend’s game between Ingurrland and Ireland…on one hand a pasting from Andy Farrell’s mob would be hilarious and hopefully very wounding for the England team and on the other, having the opportunity to win the championship the week after would be mouth watering (even if Scotland would have a snowball’s chance – as they say it’s better to live in hope!!).
I know they have to be careful with giving info away, but it would be nice to see them practising some rugby skills from time to time rather than just the gym… especially when on match days other teams appear to have better skill sets… great to see England back in the North though, this should be an annual thing
'Stop thinking too much about it. Fucking pedal'… a lesson to live by!
Great initiative to go north hope more of that continues. Maybe even one day England will play a match there. Good luck this week!
If the rfu kept the ticket at a reasonable level more people would go so yes the open training is great but so is a England game
As a cyclist used to indoor intervals and FTP tests I can tell you the bike test is hideous 👹
Not really motivated. They all look asleep.
Anyone know the song playing around 8 mins?
