Crashed my MTB and my RD is rough shifting into low gears. While trying to figure out if my hanger is bent I noticed this broken link. What do you think? Should I replace the chain or just the link?

No question about it, new chain.
Link, any age chain can break. Try not to change gear under pressure if you can help. I think there might be an old saying about chains and weak links
If you have a lot of cracked links, you might want to change your degreaser.

Actually I have a related question. This keeps happening on my bike, every couple months .Haven’t tampered with the drivetrain, thought the casette seems worn as hell. Do I just buy better quality chains?
