Join me this week as I take you around a few of my favourite spots in Snowdonia and North Wales.

We took the van out for a family weekend away to enjoy the Welsh countryside as autumn begins to creep in. We visit the village of LLanwrst to pop into the cutest tea rooms I know, Tu Hwnt I’r Bont. Unfortunately we arrives too early and it wasn’t open to the public so we weren’t able to stop for breakfast and coffee but the ladies who work there were kind enough to invite me in to take a quick peek around for you! After, we head a short drive away to one of the most popular locations in Snowdonia, the village of Betwys-y-Coed. Incredibly scenic, set in a little valley, this place is well worth a visit.

In the afternoon we head north to one of my favourite gardens in Wales, Bodnant Gardens – always a stunner no matter what time of the year you visit. In late spring there is the world renowned laburnum arch which is a spectacular sight to see! Our last visit is to a hidden gem of a castle – Gwrych Castle. A place that very much enchants me.

#visitwales #snowdonia #travelvlog

Good morning today we have woken up in Wales particularly in snowdonia in Northern Wales an incredibly picturesque part of the country and we are lucky enough to have woken up surrounded by a blanket of fog which has enveloped the countryside it’s so so scenic it really feels like Autumn has arrived this

Morning um so yeah we’ve taken the van out so we’re going to be here for the weekend and just have a little explore of Northern Wales cuz there’s so many incredibly beautiful places to share with You the building that houses the t- rooms was originally built as a residential dwelling in 1480 its name is tunon meaning beyond the bridge although it’s actually considerably older than the Indigo Jones Bridge that it stands beside at one point it was used as a courthouse for

The surrounding area and from here the most serious offenders could have been taken to the nearby jail where to be hanged outside over the centuries dunon has fallen into disrepair several times and has been re built and restored through the generosity of the town’s folk during the last century it was

Acquired by The National Trust who now care for it and it has since been leased for the last 50 Years well the two rooms didn’t open until 10:00 and um yeah we were there for 9: um so we have come to our next destination which is bwii kid it’s a really really Charming Little Village here in snowdonia really popular with Walkers and hikers and all sorts of um

Outdoor activities so we’ve just come to have a little mooch out and um see what we can Find Imagine living somewhere like this how Gorgeous O That’s Right Well we’ve left pyoid behind and we are now at one of my favorite Gardens here in North Wales it’s called bodnant Garden um it’s a really really lovely sort of Gothic style house surrounded by acres of land and really really beautifully designed Gardens so I’m going to show you around the garden

Now what she found I wonder oh she’s seeing something she’s Ranting Okay in summer this Garden is absolutely covered in roses and I can’t tell you how incredible the scent is it’s just an intoxicating perfume I’ll try and bring you back next June but it’s nice to see that there’s still a good a good flush of roses even now in September so to

Think what month it was then September One Be Right we are at our final destination of today it’s a lovely old castle although not as old as it would appear it actually dates to 1812 that’s when they first started building it and I think they finished in 1822 but on the site there was a much

Older house but the gentleman who built this wanted to build a property that was in the style of an ancient medieval European castle and in fact this is probably the earliest example of someone trying to recreate um a medieval castle um so today it is just a bit of a shell

But I’ve come to show you around because it is really really lovely full of charm and character and well worth a Visit the story of grik dates to the 12th century when there was a Norman Castle on this site this was seized by a Welsh prince in about 1170 who then rebuilt the timber Castle in stone this Castle was later destroyed by cromwell’s Army following the English Civil War of the mid-7th century

Gri Castle as we see it today was built between 1812 and 1822 by wealthy industrialist Lloyd hesketh Bamford hesketh as a memorial to his mother’s ancestors the Lords of gri on the site was an Elizabethan house which by 1810 had fallen into der elction during World War II the castle

Was requisitioned as part of operation Kinder transport and in 1946 was sold by the family ending nearly a thousand years of continuous family ownership in 1948 the castle was purchased by Leslie saltz who opened it as the Showplace of Wales for a period of about 20 years following Salt’s sale in 1968 the

Castle was operated as a medieval entertainment center with jousting Banquets and markets taking place in the grounds this also heralded a period of slow decline which saw the building shut to the public in 1985 and the final Chou taking place in 1987 the castle closed to the public that same year and it

Quickly started to decline it was bought in 1989 by Nick tone an American businessman for £750,000 he planned to create a top class opera house and a joining luxury hotel however his plans to renovate the building were not carried out instead the castle was asset stripped and vandalized to the

Point that its very future was uncertain and unfortunately in early 1998 gurri was extensively damaged following the collapse of ceilings and floors and was later damaged by fire today as you can see this once magnificent house is little more than a Shell well that is it for today’s episode I really hope you’ve enjoyed it if you have please do subscribe as it helps our Channel grow and I will see you next Sunday lots of Love

  1. Дякую за ваші цікаві розповіді про замки, сади, пейзажі, а також дуже вдало підібрану музику👍

  2. You and your family are 'endlessly photogenic.' Your visits to gardens and your ability to photograph flowers are outstanding. My wife and I have spent a few days in Wales. I have a bit of a Welsh family connection through the Yale/LLewllyn line. That adds to my interest in your video today!

  3. Seeing your husband helping your daughter navigate up and down those rocks brought back sweet memories of my dad. Those are moments she will treasure as she grows older. Such simple ways of being loved.❤

  4. I love the way you film, so we can see all the lovely details. That garden is wonderful, and I especially like how there are views into the distance from the terrace. Such a feeling of open space and freedom. One can forget the trials of the modern world for a while.

  5. I find your videos so interesting, I have travelled around the UK a fair bit, but always find out about new places to visit that I did not know of before!

  6. I am full of admiration for how great your knolwge is about all the places you visit. And once more Thank you for sharing it with us. I am amazed with how beautiful Wales are….. i am looking forward to see more episodes xx

  7. What a sad tale for such an unimaginably beautiful castle! I hope someday someone will come along and restore it to glory, it would be amazing to see proper medieval reenactments there, or even just a lovely tea room and gardens. Thanks for another wonderful tour
