Working on a 1983 Univega Gran Turismo and am replacing the down tube shifters with bar end shifters. I need a cable housing to sit where the shifters used to go. Can anyone recommend a part for that? I have a part I found on eBay and wondering if it will suffice.

Looks like that would work of the Origin 8 one I mentioned in the other thread. Google ‘down tube cable stop’ for some options.
Problem Solvers clamp-on shifter mount and a set of shifter bosses.
This is what you want.

It converts shifter bosses to cable stops. Any bike shop should have them
Yeah that will work well if your using friction shifters. If the shifters are indexed you may want to spring for a set of clamp on bosses rather than just stops so you can use barrel adjusters
That is the part for that. There are more modern versions, but that part was made specifically for this purpose.
