    Any idea why my chain does this clicking sound? I can see it gets stuck on the teeth but I don’t know what’s the repair here..I’m fairly new to bikes

      Pedalling backwards inst a good way of noticing if anything is wrong as the drive train isnt designed for that motion. Does pedalling forwards also cause the same issue?

      At a guess it’s an overworn chain catching on the teeth. Needs a chain checker to measure wear and determine what else may need changing too

      the chain and ring teeth don’t mesh together well at all. There’s some sort of compatibility issue manifesting there.

      Holy shit that chainring (and chain) is done. You will need a new chainring, chain and a cassette.

      The chain is stretched obviously. To the extent that it already ate the teeth of your chainring. The cassette is probably damaged too.
      New drivetrain day!
      And to avoid it in the future, but a chain checker and replace the chain when it stretches to 0,5%-0,75% depending on the number of cogs. You can then rotate 3-4 chains to prolong the life of the rings.

      The chain is worn out. So is the chainring. Most probably the cassette will be worse than the chainring if it’s the same age.

      These are all parts that are meant to be used up and changed out, so it’s not difficult to find parts. But you do need a few special tools for the job, so it’s probably cheaper to get it done in your local bike shop than to buy the tools you need.

      Is it just a narrow wide chainring that the chain is kneeling tooth out? Can’t really tell from the video.

      Drivetrain is toast. Chain, chainring, and cassette at least. No chain stretch gauge needed 😆

      Good on you for riding the hell out of it though!

      This is why you should regularly check your chain, NEVER use off brand chains, and keep your shit cleaned and lubed.

      Your chain, chainrings, cassette, and possibly jockey wheels ALL need replaced now. This bike is no longer safe to ride. This expensive repair bill could have been avoided with a $4 tool and replacing your chain on time.

      Also looks like that chainring may be integrated with the crank, so maybe crank and bottom bracket as well as the drivetrain. Shimano has some really good price point stuff
