I have the Canyon Grail Al 7 with Continental Terra Speed 700 x 40c on them. Now, the knobs on rear tire are almost gone and the ones on the front tire are somewhat visible. I’ve added pictures (first Front, second rear).
I usually bike 60-70 km a week mostly on Asphalt. During the summer, I may bike longer.
Based on the experience with these tires, do I need to switch to newer tires soon?
If so, which tires should I switch to? Can I switch to 35mm instead of 40? I don’t usually ride Offroad but still would like to have tires that can handle some patches.
Please suggest tires as well. Thanks 😃

I had the terra trail in 40c on my bike and switched to g-one allround 45c. Pretty fast on the road too for me.
I would highly suggest Schwalbe G One R. They’re extremely fast imo. If you opt for a Schwalbe G One Allround, I would also suggest buying the more expensive evolution ones over the performance line. The G One R are only available in the evolution line.
considering you riding asphalt mostly you have to look at something semislick.
gravelking SS, pathfinders, schwalbe g-one rs(speed),x-one, ,vittoria gravel endurance. cinturato gravel H etc.
BUT
terraspeed is one of the best in terms of rolling resistance and very high rated tire overall.

Schwable Marathon if you are cycling on the road & want them to wear slow. Or Vittoria Randonneur. 35 mm or 40mm
goodyear connector ultimate (run tubeless) 700×35. I commute these on rough roads with a couple of small gravel/offroad sections…love them and hard wearing too
Honestly if you’re mostly riding on pavement and only go on gravel when you have to, something like the 35C Continental GP5000 AS TR is probably best. They have insanely low rolling resistance, they don’t really puncture, they grip surprisingly well on gravel and they last a really long time. The only downside is that they’re expensive. I like them.
