E biking in Zermatt

E biking has taken off here in Zermatt in the last couple of years.

It’s a fantastic way to be out in the mountains and cover a load of terrain without too much effort! There are a few shops in town where you can rent them for as long as you want. We rented from our partner shop Bayard Sport

Our day took us up to Sunnegga, which although it’s 600m is easy on these bikes, we hopped on the lift to Blauherd to save a bit of battery and then headed over to Alphitta stopping by a few of the mountain lakes. We had planned to head over to Schwarzsee but the weather was moving in so turned around and back to Sunnegga. We were still in the sun here so had time for a great lunch at the Findlerhof before heading down.

If you are visiting Zermatt and have never tried E-biking we’d thoroughly recommend it.
