  1. The pin is shot, but you can buy a replacement pin from Park Tools’ vendors. I have mine for 30 years and went through some pins =)

    The pin thread into the threaded driver. Just use a plier to hold it and use the handle to unscrew it.

    It’s replaceable, a good practice is to hold the chain down with your thumb while you twist the lever. The spinning action will try to eject the chain sometimes. Just make sure the pin is lined up correctly first, the chain doesn’t always just line up perfectly.
