Made a bit of a guide for new mountain bikers to learn how to setup their bike for the first time. GF and her friends are all just getting into riding and had no idea how to do any of this, so thought it would be good to share for any beginners out there. Let me know if you think this is a good list or if I forgot anything

Gonna give honest feedback. I’m a minute in … Here’s what I like and don’t like. The script is good, but I’d include better visuals. For instance, you just have a shot of yourself with the bike barely in the shot. I get you’re a lot taller, but if you could edit it so that you’re showing yourself working on it, like a preview.
*I don’t edit videos so forgive me for not knowing the proper terminology.
I’d also have a visual list, so you can say what you’re gonna review, like a 1-10 bike setup guide, and provide actual text in the video. I might even include a shot of your girlfriend on the bike, just to mix it up a bit.
Second minute, more of the same. I’d include different preview shots of working on the bike, plus when you listed the tools (shock pump, alan keys, tire pressue gauge) again I’d have text, plus an individual shot of each tool. So when you say shock pump, you have a shot of a pump and text above saying shock pump.
You jump right into SAG, but without any visuals, it’s kinda difficult to figure out. Again, I’m assuming this is for a beginner.
Next minute as you’re jumping into SAG. If I’m a beginner you’re starting to lose me here. You’re talking fast, it’s not very clear and your giving me too much information. I need to see it instead of hear it, that’s why I’m watching a video and not reading an instruction manual.
If you watch anything from Seth, not only does he speak slow and deliberate, but he includes a ton of visuals.
Watched up to 4:30 so can’t critique past that, but it’s pretty much the same critique. You did add some alternate shots which is good, and you have good information, I like most of the script. What I’d do though is simplify and shorten it up.
Beginners need step by step instructuons, and it should be highly visual. I feel like this is more a video of you just reading me something instead of showing me. If I was scrolling through YouTube and wanted to setup my bike, I’d probably not have used this video and would’ve clicked another thumbnail somewhere between 30-60 seconds in.
Hope that’s not too harsh, but there’s just so much content online, if you want to even get a sliver of the pie and retain an audience, its gotta be highly visual and straight forward. Good luck!
