The Maxxis Ravager looks promising, any experience with them?

Well first off, go as wide as you can and adjust pressure accordingly. I would also recommend an insert for the rear at a minimum but consider one for the front too.
I regularly ride rougher stuff than I could see in your video and both the Maxxis Ravagers and the wtb Raddlers have held up great. I prefer the more aggressive side knobs for that type of terrain. You could probably get away with a less aggressive tire though. Remember, width (and pressure) impact your contact patch and have a big part to play when it comes to grip and stability. Aim for a 45-50mm tire if you can get away with it. Even the pros are trending towards 50’s for rougher races.
In a similar vein to the Maxxis Ravager, I’ve been very tempted by the Teravail Rutland, seems like a similar kind of philosphy in tread design
I’d go for supple with low pressure. Teravail light and supple Sparwoods would be a good place to start.
Rene Herse with the small block tread pattern in just about any size. I run the 700×48 Oracle Ridge. This is my favorite tire ever.
If your frame can take an XC tire and you’re riding only unpaved/trails.
