  1. Why is it sticking out so much on one side? Is it a Giant thing? Secondly, are you trying to do this when your suspension is on the group or on a stand? And 3rd, just to make sure, you are turning it the right way, correct?

    Might be a dumb question, but the air was removed from the shock correct?

  3. Rubber mallet. If it hasn’t been removed, it can have some corrosion and be stuck in there a bit. Make sure you add some grease before putting it back on.

    Make sure your rear wheel is off and it’s in a bike stand. A couple easy hits with a rubber mallet should get it out.

    If that doesn’t work, hit it harder.

    It’s putting that shit all back together that’s going to drive you crazy. There barely any room to hold the bushings in place and drive that bolt back in at the same time. To get it out though I used a punch and mallet to send it on through.
