When applying pressure down on my right pedal I can feel a bit of play (outwards to the right) as if the pedal is about to snap, what could be the issue and/or what parts would potentially need changing?

Check your bottom bracket.
Hard to see in the picture, but it looks like that might be a Shimano Dura Ace FC-9000 crankset. If that is the case, you may want to check out the worldwide recall on those. And you shouldn’t continue riding it if you value your teeth.
You probably need a new crankset, it’s not safe to ride it like that. When it fails it will be while you’re pushing hard so you’ll probably have a bad crash
