Hello,
I’m a returning rider who just got their first full suspension (150/150) trail bike and I’m looking for advice on body protection.
I’ve had a few crashes over the years, one of which resulted in a torn shoulder, from which I have fully recovered. However I’d like to minimise risks going forward.

**What body protection would you recommend in terms of Brans, Accessories and so on?**
Currently I’ve got my eyes on the following pieces:
[Fox Racing Baseframe Pro D30 – Protector Jacket](https://www.foxracing.com/product/baseframe-pro-d3o-chest-guard-jacket/27744.html) (Back – level 2, Elbow, Shoulders, Chest – level 1, D30)

[Scott Softcon Air Jacket Protector](https://www.scott-sports.com/ca/en/product/scott-softcon-air-jacket-protector?article=2784611001006) (Back, Elbow, Shoulders, Chest – level 1, D30)

[Leatt Body Protector ReaFlex](https://leatt.com/int/product/body-protector-reaflex-v24?selected-color=black) (Back, Elbow, Shoulders, Chest – level 1)

[Leatt Body Protector AirFlex](https://leatt.com/int/product/body-protector-airflex-22?selected-color=black) (Back, Elbow, Shoulders, Chest – level 1)

[Leat Body Protector ReaFlex Stealth](https://leatt.com/int/product/body-protector-reaflex-stealth-v24?selected-color=stealth) (Back, Elbow, Shoulders – level 1)

[Leat Body Protector AirFlex Stealth](https://leatt.com/int/product/body-protector-airflex-stealth-20?selected-color=black) (Back, Elbow, Shoulders – level 1)

What do you think of these? I’m looking for something meshy / well ventilated with medium protection. The RealFlex seems to be an updated version of the AirFlex, but according to the manufacturer rating, they are on the same level. Fox and Scott use some patented D30 material, which I’m not sure it’s better than Leatt. I’d also appreciate recommendations for Knees/Shin protectors and helmets.

I really like my Leatt Airflex Body. I like that I can mix and match it depending on what I am doing.

Most of the time I only wear the outer roost protector because I have elbow pads that I like better than the built in ones. But I also ride dirt bikes so I wear the shirt and the roost guard for that. Because you can mix and match I can always upgrade and get a hard roost if I want (the Leatt 4.5 fits great and would probably be my first choice).

It also helps that Leatt is one of the only brands making a women’s version. My torso is too short to wear most of the unisex armor and the back plates hit me in the back of the head.

And while I am a huge fan of protection (I wear knee and elbow pads on every.single.ride) a little professional instruction can go a long way towards reducing risk and preventing wrecks. The best protection is preventing a crash in the first place.
