Hello bike knowledgeable people.
I am looking for to get a bike for spring. I already have a race bike for my (very) amateur triathlon endeavors, an old Klein that is aggressive and fast. I love it and it is on my trainer right now.
I have been biking all my life occasionally but on a regular basis only for about 7-8 months. I am a 47yo fossil.
But what I am looking for is a bike that I will be able to use on bicycles path for around 2-3 hours outing with family. The bicycle paths are mostly tarmac but quite bad one with cracks and tree roots bumps everywhere. It is a mix of flat and shirt hills. There is also people on it so the Klein in way too stiff and useless because I can never really go up to speed for long stretch enough by myself and with the family along there is no reason to go really fast. It is also stiff as hell.
I am looking for:
Drop bars
Steel
Comfort
Brifters
Possibly rack mounting
Durable
Budget around 2214,19 US (about 3000$ CAN)
I feel those criteria’s align somewhat with the « randonneur » category but maybe I am wrong.
Here is some bikes I think may meet my needs but I am not knowledgeable about the « parts » of the bike so maybe you could tell my where I am wrong or suggest something better.
I am located in Canada so, some European brands would be costly to import.

I’m guessing if you search for used gravel bikes near you and look at anything from a reputable brand manufactured in the last five years you’ll find something well below your price limit. If buying new I’d look at something like All-City space horse as well.
