Hi there, looking to get my first bike of this type but not sure if the extra buck for the gravel (first one) is worth it. Was hoping for some insight from some of you guys that are a bit more cunning, alternativt suggestions are welcome. So the first bike ( pics 1-6) goes for £800 and the second for £600.

Thank you in advance!

Go for the gravel bike . It has mechanical disc brakes and will allow you to conquer more rough terrain. You can fit wider tires on it too . Rim brakes still stop bikes but the difference is noticeable when using disc . It’s even more noticeable when using hydraulic disc brakes. I prefer having 105 over tiagra but you probably won’t notice that much .
I have a 10speed 2x on my gravel bike and it does the job .
Take my opinion with a grain of salt, it is the internet .

For me it’s a preference thing
I enjoy riding my gravel bike more than my road bike .
I think it’s in part due to the wider tires and the confidence I have to take on any terrain .

Depends on what surfaces you will be riding on.
